This week for World Menopause Day our NOON team discussed menopause and work and asked the vital question: How *should* we be addressing the menopause in the workplace? The answers we came up with might surprise you. Watch the discussion with NOON founder Eleanor Mills, NOON head of consulting Dr Lucy Ryan and NOON editorial director Jennifer Howze

Times Bestselling author of Much More to Come, Lessons on the Mayhem and Magnificence of midlife -HarperCollins. Award-winning Editor. Founder of Noon.org.uk - home of the Queenager. Broadcaster and Keynote speaker

On World Menopause Day Eleanor Mills, bestselling author of Much More to Come and Founder of Noon.org.uk discusses with Dr Lucy Ryan author of Business Book of the Year Revolting Women: Why midlife women leave and what to do about it, whether all the chat and hype around menopause is helping women or harming them by playing into gendered-ageist stereotypes. What do you think? Is it really empowering to make senior female executives talk about their brain fog and HRT? I don't see any senior men discussing andropause or their viagra requirements... Of course women need doctors to know what they are talking about on menopause and to be trained, but is the menopausal lens a boon or a bust? jJoin us for a lively discussion.

We're excited to be at National Grid today talking to Cordi O'Hara, President of National Grid in a fireside chat along with the Women in National Grid – WiNG. We've got Eleanor Mills on camera with Cordi, Jennifer Howze noting nuggets of wisdom we'll be sharing on the site. It's a great discussion around the NOON research, finding purpose in work (which fits right in with NG's aim to bring better, affordable and more sustainable energy to families) and the importance of activities like NOON Circles. "You have to find your new crew," Cordi said. That's *exactly* what women who attend our Circles tell us is so valuable – finding the new tribe, the new crew, the new source of support. That's just one of the reasons we're committed to providing insight and support to the women working at National Grid. Lee Chambers has rightly noted how much companies out there need organisations like NOON and our understanding of how to talk to midlife women, what they want and who they are. Because we know never to use the phrase "menopause ladies" 🙄 Eleanor Mills Jennifer Howze Jocelyn Cripps

I present to you My favourite advert of the weekend Because nothing screams gendered ageism Like telling women they need to jump in a Time Machine and that their age isn’t valid Like telling women looking young and losing weight is the most valuable thing they can bring to the world Like referring to women as “menopause ladies” Like not considering there are a range of reasons why you might go through menopause before 25 Like looking at women’s health through what feels like a male centric lens Like having some awfully hard to understand, disjointed copy Like completely invalidating their target market Maybe Noom need to call NOON, Eleanor Or here’s simple idea Let’s focus on being a part of women flourishing and thriving at every stage Because as I see in my work, it’s hard enough as it is Thank you to Joanna Strober for highlighting this Gendered ageism is everywhere It’s about time men called this out too
