About us

FURY , a Martial Art like many and like no other. Like many as it is a codified system and tradition of combat practice. Like no other as it is based on multiple forms and draws techniques from Kickboxing, Boxing, Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, Kali, and many other progressive fighting systems, together with many real-life confrontations through security and door work experience gained by the senior Instructor Team, in short, it’s a Hybrid Martial Art that deals with everyday Multiple opponent situations. FURY - born by popular demand upon the extinction of a Self Defence formerly known as SEP – Street Education Programme, and is now run by former SEP Instructors, who still have the passion for delivering the same fun and energy in every class giving their students not only a good workout but also transferring some of their gained knowledge over their years of intense Instructor training.

    " I have been training with Fury Ladies Kick Boxing for 3 months now, I have always liked to keep active , doing either , type of martial arts or ball sports to keep active and as a hobby. I have found that Fury kickboxing gives me a goal/purpose to work towards to outside work commitments and I have noticed that my physical fitness is getting better and it has improved my mental health. I was surprised at how friendly it is, the instructors are supportive and strict at the same time, and for me that’s ideal to keep me going. The team and fellow students are very friendly and approachable you can talk to anyone and they will be supportive and helpful at the same time. I would say anyone thinking in achieving great results physically and mentally should come into FURY Systems Ladies kickboxing as it will build you into an improved version of yourself , you will feel much happier. I feel lot stronger and fitter and feel like I can achieve even better results, my confidence has gone up since starting the sessions." - F. Dos Santos

    -I have been training with Fury since January 2023 -I've had an attitude for Martial Arts from a young age so have always wanted to do it -I feel more confident within myself and it has helped me with my personal matters, not forgetting my overall general health -I've learned a lot about myself, you look at certain techniques and think can I do that but over time you master it and get better at it. It also helps with decision making -It's really friendly and the team have made me so welcome. All students help each other and push you on to be the best you can - It's a great social network to be part of -Want to feel more confident and accomplish your goals easier, not forgetting being a stronger person and improving your physical fitness -I am much fitter than what I was, the class has a very good fitness feel to it. My muscles are also stronger from starting this class -I don't get stressed about a few things that I used to, since starting, and my balance and co-ordination is so much better -The instructors went out of their way to make sure you were understanding all aspects of what they are teaching and they continue to do this throughout your training

    1. I've been training for about 2 years. 2. I needed something for myself, my own time, doing something for me. 3. My stamina and fitness are much better than before joining and I'm always expecting the training day to arrive! 4. It is always welcome, I'm there! Ahah. Jokes apart, the instructors and the team are always there to help and everyone's friendly and fun. 5. I say, what are you waiting for? Life goes by fast, come and do something for you! 6. I'm doing much more now than when I started. I feel much stronger/fitter now which helps with my day to day life too. 7. I didn't know how to throw a single punch when I joined. I now had the confidence to join a friendly competition, I think that speaks volumes! 8. I was a little scared to pass through the door on the first day. I'm quite shy before knowing my space and I get quite anxious. But Vickie and Joe made me feel welcome straight away. The team was helpful. Honestly, you just need to push through that first feeling of insecurity the first few times and I promise you won't want to leave after!

    How long have you been training? About 9 years. What was the number one reason you wanted to start Martial Arts / Self Defence? To learn how to defend myself and family. What changes have you noticed since you began? Much more confident. What has surprised you about the training? How easy it can be. How friendly is it here and how welcome have you felt by the team and the fellow students? Very friendly great students and amazing instructors. What would you say to anyone thinking of coming along? Give it a go you have nothing to lose. How much stronger and fitter do you feel? Much fitter. How much more confident do you feel since starting? Very confident. What was your experience like when you came for your first class? Very welcoming and helpful..

    Martial Arts Instructor They asked me one day: what is your profession? And I said, ' I teach martial arts. He looked at me with strange expression, laughed and said gently: what an easy profession! I, with my head high, said firmly: I don't work in a company, but in a space where I promote knowledge and discipline in children, young people and adults. I don't discrimination anyone because everyone is capable. I'm not a boss, but others see me as a leader or a model to follow. I'm not a psychologist, but I can make everyone believe in themselves. I'm not a doctor, but I can diagnose needs and help. I don't have hours of work, because while you watch tv or sleep, I'm planning for everyone to have better learning. I'm not an architect, but I help build dreams and values. I don't scold anyone, I teach them the way to succeed in difficult times of life. I don't use clay, but molding virtues. It wasn't easy to get here, it wasn't just years of practice. It was days of the week and weekends without family, skills, hard training and injuries. All this to become alone in a mirror... that is also fragile, who also learns, who makes mistakes and suffers. I'm an instructor - I don't just teach, I share a little of life and share my knowledge.

    "I have been with Fury for just over a year, although only training when I’m able to during the holidays as a university student. My main reason for starting martial arts was that it really interested me as a way of keeping active.⁠ Since starting kick-boxing with Fury, I have noticed my confidence improving which is another reason I decided to start training. I was surprised at how training really required me to give it my all, which made me feel very satisfied at the end of the session. ⁠From my first day at Fury, I have felt welcomed and supported by the instructors and fellow students, who have helped me a lot during training. I definitely recommend trying out martial arts at Fury, it’s a great way to keep active and learn new things while being around a supportive team. I feel a lot stronger and fitter since starting kick-boxing, which has really helped improve my confidence and mental health inside and outside of class. Coming to my first class was quite nerve racking, but everyone was very supportive and it quickly started feeling like a comfortable environment."

    Have you ever wondered why some schools offer 6 week self-defence classes while others offer a system where it takes a lot longer? In 6 weeks, you will no doubt learn something, but how much of it becomes muscle memory? If you find yourself in a situation where you need to defend yourself, then you will 100% be relying on muscle memory. At FURY SYSTEMS, we teach you the basics and then cover as many different situations as we can possibly think of. Not all situations will be in a dark alley or outside a pub. Situations needing Self Defence can happen anywhere. We teach at different levels and cover so many different place situations/awareness of your surroundings/amount of people involved/involvement of weapons and much more. The most important thing about how we teach is we REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT You don't learn to walk by doing it once, so you can't expect to learn to defend yourself by doing it for a short amount of time.
