Today, we shine a light on Acid Sphingomyelinase Deficiency (ASMD), also known as Niemann-Pick Disease Types A and B. It is a rare genetic disorder where the body can't break down a fatty substance called sphingomyelin. This leads to its buildup in organs like the liver, spleen, lungs, and sometimes the nervous system, making awareness and early diagnosis crucial. ASMD affects 1 in 250,000 people globally, but with more awareness, we can drive earlier diagnosis and better care! #ASMD #NPC #NiemannPickAwareness #RareDiseaseAwareness#Healthcare #PatientCare #sciart #medicalart #3dart #digitalart #3drender #medicalanimation #3danimation #3d #motiongraphics #graphicdesign #science #biology #digitalhealth #videooftheday #animationstudio #creatives #fusionmedicalanimation #cinematicscience

On World Arthritis Day, we highlight the impact of this widespread condition affecting millions globally. Arthritis involves inflammation of the joints, leading to pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. It encompasses over 100 types, including rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, which can cause long-term joint damage and disability if left untreated. Raising awareness is key to early diagnosis, effective management, and improved quality of life for patients. Let’s continue advocating for more research, advanced treatments, and comprehensive care. 💙 #WAD2024 #WorldArthritisDay #ArthritisAwareness #RheumatoidArthritis #Osteoarthritis #JointHealth #InflammatoryDisease #ChronicPain #Rheumatology #AutoimmuneDisease #Healthcare #PatientCare #sciart #medicalart #3dart #digitalart #3drender #medicalanimation #3danimation #3d #motiongraphics #graphicdesign #science #biology #digitalhealth #videooftheday #animationstudio #creatives #fusionmedicalanimation #cinematicscience

Congratulations to LabGenius who recently announced a £35 million Series B fundraise. We were approached by LabGenius to create a video to demonstrate how they create drug candidates, how the drugs work at a molecular level and their benefits vs other formats. The goal was to help explain the unique ML-driven antibody discovery platform to investors. Here’s an excerpt from the video. Are you considering commissioning a scientific or medical animation? What should you look for in the right animation partner? We’ve selected three points that could help you make your decision. 1. Scientific AND Creative Expertise Not only do the team you’d be working with need to understand the science, they also need to simplify complex information in an accurate and compelling way. As well as understanding the science, the team you’d be working with also needs to simplify complex information in an accurate and compelling way. This is the perfect combination of skills that will bring your science to life. This is also the reason why AI currently struggles to deliver on the accuracy needed for scientific or medical topics at the forefront of science. Tip: look at the biographies of the team who would be working on your project. Do they have both scientific/medical training as well as formal creative or animation qualifications? 2. The Goldilocks test What size is the animation studio and so how important will your business be to them? Are they very large and your project is one of hundreds passing through. Or is your project going to overwhelm a very small team with potential for delayed delivery? Ideally, the animation agency would be just the right size where your business is worked on by senior team members and a studio large enough to deliver a breadth of animation styles. Tip: How many people would be working on your project? Between 5 and 8 is usually enough to bring breadth of expertise, not overcomplicate the feedback processes, and work closely together to deliver. Could the team scale up if needed to deliver to tight timelines? Want to know the third point (and a bonus item)? Then you should visit our blog. https://lnkd.in/dvm6CZX3

Neurological disorders like stroke, Alzheimer's, and epilepsy significantly contribute to disability-adjusted life years. But the large number of preventable cases gives us hope – 90% of strokes, 40% of dementia cases, and 25% of epilepsies are preventable. This year’s theme of “Brain Health and Prevention” is so vital today on World Brain Day. Help spread the message of hope to the world and raise awareness for education on World Brain Day. #WorldBrainDay #WBD2024 #BrainHealthandPrevention

Today is World Sickle Cell Day! Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is a genetic blood disorder where red blood cells become abnormally shaped like a crescent or sickle. These misshapen cells can block blood flow, causing severe pain, infections, and complications. Early diagnosis and proper care are essential for managing SCD and improving quality of life. Do you know Morse code? Today, for World Autism Day, we are proud to share an animation called It Takes All Kinds of Minds (ITAKOM) created for the Mindroom Salvesen Centre charity. “We would like to see a much more holistic way to look at intelligence, talent, and capacity. A way that includes All Kinds Of Minds. A new way, that recognises that the differences between us are a source of strength, inspiration, and complimentary skills.” Did you hear the morse code in the music? Why do women have more autoimmune diseases? You may have seen recent news coverage exploring the reasons why autoimmune disease may be more prevalent in women than men. A molecular coating typically found on half of a woman’s X chromosomes — but not in males’ cells — might be provoking unwanted immune responses according to a study recently published in Cell(1). Prompted by this we’ve updated our immune-mediated showreel. Our expertise extends across a broad range of therapeutic areas. Get in touch if you would like to discuss the timings and costs involved in a project like the ones from the showreel. (1) Dou, D.R. et al. Cell 187, 733-749.e16 (2024)
