Our Top Tips for Supporting Learners with ADHD Every learner deserves to feel successful — and with the right support, they can thrive. Here are some simple ways to help learners with ADHD stay engaged, build confidence, and enjoy learning: 1️⃣ Follow their passions – Whether it’s gaming, animals, or art, building learning around what they love makes it meaningful and fun. 2️⃣ Break it down – Big tasks can feel overwhelming. Smaller, bite-sized steps make it easier to get started and keep going. 3️⃣ Use movement and senses – Learning doesn’t have to mean sitting still. Try listening to a story while walking, or using creative, hands-on activities. 4️⃣ Be flexible – Give them space to choose and explore, so learning feels exciting — not a chore. 5️⃣ Start with the easy wins – Begin with something they enjoy, like a video or quiz, to build confidence and get into a learning mindset. At Gaia Learning, we know that personalised, flexible education helps neurodivergent learners shine — because we see it every day. Want to chat about how we can support your learner? We’d love to hear from you. #ADHDSupport #NeurodivergentLearners #InterestBasedLearning #PersonalisedLearning #GaiaLearning

Did anyone spot the Blood Moon eclipse this morning? 🌕 If you’ve got any amateur astronomers (or space-obsessed learners!) at home, we’d love to hear about it. At Gaia Learning, we know that following a child’s interests — whether that’s space, science fiction, or stargazing — is one of the best ways to spark a love of learning. That’s why we created Mission to Mars, a fully personalised course where learners explore science, maths, creative writing, and problem-solving... all through the lens of a real space mission! Because when learning is led by curiosity, amazing things can happen. Know a learner who’d love to head to Mars with us? Find out more: 👉 https://lnkd.in/eJBZ7NfN And tell us... did you see the eclipse? 🌙 #BloodMoon #LunarEclipse #GaiaLearning

What does a PDA-friendly lesson actually look like? 🌿 No strict schedules – Sessions begin with open conversation, easing into learning at a comfortable pace. 🌿 No direct demands – Instead of saying, "Write this answer," we might ask, "How do you think we could solve this?" 🌿 Autonomy – Learners choose activities that suit them, whether that’s talking through ideas, typing, drawing, or using assistive tech. 🌿 Passion-driven – Love dinosaurs? Space? Anime? We incorporate interests into lessons to make learning engaging and natural. Imagine your child feeling excited, not anxious, about learning. That’s what we do at Gaia Learning. #GaiaLearning #PDA

We’re at the National SEND and Inclusion Conference 2025 — come and say hello! You’ll find Kate Longworth , Neeki Armani and Lynsey Postlethwaite on our stand, ready to chat about how we support neurodivergent learners through personalised online education. Whether you’re a SENDCO, inclusion lead, Headteacher, CEO, or working with a Local Authority, charity, or social enterprise — if you’re involved in supporting young people with additional needs, we’d love to swap ideas and share how we approach things differently. We know that no two learners are the same — and we’re always up for a conversation about how to make education work for everyone. #SENDCONF25 #GaiaLearning

Meeting the needs of learners with complex SEND in mainstream schools isn’t easy — and it’s something we know lots of educators are grappling with. At the National SEND and Inclusion Conference 2025, Kate Longworth our CEO, will be joining a panel discussion all about how we can manage complex needs in ways that actually work — for learners, teachers, and schools. Kate will be joining Stephen Steinhaus (Chair), Kristina Yates, Shazad Ali, and @Sarah Baker to share ideas, talk honestly about what’s working (and what isn’t), and explore how we can better support learners who don’t always fit into the system. #SENDCONF25 #GaiaLearning

If you’re wondering how to make learning work for neurodivergent learners, Kate Longworth our CEO, will be sharing ideas in her workshop at the National SEND and Inclusion Conference 2025. In "The Power of Personalised Learning Pathways", Kate will talk about how following a learner’s interests — and connecting them across subjects — can really boost confidence, build skills, and get learners engaged. She’ll also share how we do this at Gaia, and give practical tips you can take away — like using flexible rubrics to help learners of all abilities get something meaningful out of the same tasks. If you’re looking for fresh ideas on interest-led, personalised learning, this one’s for you. 👉 https://lnkd.in/em2ZdKuK #SENDCONF25 #GaiaLearning TEAM Education Trust

At Gaia Learning, we know that progress looks different for every learner. Sometimes it’s mastering a tricky concept, and other times, it’s about confidence, communication, and connection. Here are some incredible wins from our learners this week: 💡 Self-advocacy in action: One learner joined their session just to let their educator know they were feeling unwell and couldn’t attend. A small moment, but a big step in independence, communication, and self-awareness. 📚 Engagement through passion: A learner who had struggled with English came alive when the session shifted to history, their favourite subject. They contributed more than ever before—just another example of how interest-led learning can be transformational. 🛏️ Personalised mentoring that makes a difference: A learner struggling with motivation opened up about feeling constantly tired. Together, they worked on a plan to explore sleep strategies in the next session, helping them take control of their own learning. 🌍 Bringing the world into the classroom: A learner led their educator on a virtual tour of places that are special to them, sharing memories and favourite spots. They were so engaged, they lost track of time! Every week, we see neurodivergent learners grow, overcome challenges, and build confidence in their own way. What’s a win you or your learner have had recently? We’d love to hear! 👇 #GaiaLearning

"They just need more discipline." "They’re being difficult on purpose." "You’re just giving in to their avoidance." Parents of children with PDA hear this all the time. But the truth is, PDA isn’t a choice—it’s anxiety-driven demand avoidance. Your child isn’t being difficult; they’re in distress. At Gaia Learning, we remove the pressure, meet them where they are, and help them thrive in an environment where they feel safe and in control. Want to hear from parents who’ve made the switch?
