The Grahame Carter Remembrance Gallop 2024 On Friday night, we returned to Goodwood for our annual team day at the races for the first time since the loss of our beloved colleague and friend, Grahame Carter. Both Gattaca alumni and current colleagues will know that Grahame lit up at Goodwood, it was his favourite night of the year. ❤️ In his absence, we lit up Goodwood for him. We had the immense privilege of sponsoring a race in memory of GC. The Remembrance Gallop was a fitting tribute to a man whose presence on those race days will always be missed. Grahame's lifework at Gattaca was all about spotting fresh sales talent and supporting them to become the best, so it was especially meaningful to sponsor a race for apprentice jockeys, continuing Grahame's work in fostering the next generation of talent. It was also fitting that our Matchtech water division, a team that Grahame was instrumental in building and developing from the ground up, won our Q3 Sales Incentive and spent the day taking in the races from the luxury of a private box. Grahame would have been extremely proud (and frankly, fuming to have missed it). We want to thank Grahame's wife, Roma, his children Evie & Harry, and all his loved ones who joined us on Friday and who participated in the prize-giving ceremony. It was evident to see the profound influence that Grahame had on all of us. They'll tackle 106km over two days on foot to raise money for our charity partners, Foothold. 🌎"Who should be involved in a business's climate journey?"🌎 We know there's no quick fix-all to a business's climate concerns - a climate journey is, after all, a journey. It's a consistent process of learning, adapting and asking questions. This year, in aid of #EarthDay - and more broadly #EarthMonth - we're committed to curiosity; continuing to ask and answer questions as best we can. Alongside celebrating our recently validated SBTI targets, we are taking the opportunity to actively involve and educate our employees, including: demystifying climate change, setting some basic office expectations and offering ideas as to what ‘great’ sustainable office practices might look like.
