TCUK (Tower Cranes UK Ltd) proud to be supporting McAleer & Rushe on this ambitious redevelopment project, providing the tower cranes needed to facilitate construction at height. Additionally, our sister company, DCUK (park of the GCL (Ground Construction Limited) group), is carrying out specialist top-down demolition using an 8t machine to carefully dismantle the existing structures. This exciting project includes: 🔹 Top-down demolition to both blocks (by GCL Demolition) 🔹 Façade removal & structural alterations 🔹 Lightweight steel extensions up to L06 & L10 🔹 A new external envelope protecting the structure and residents from the elements. 🔹 Fit-out of 850+ student bedrooms 🔹 Large student amenity areas & cultural spaces 🔹 The redevelopment of the Grade II listed Tipperary Pub & Whitefriars Crypt With the challenges of urban construction, including working in tight spaces and preserving heritage structures, this project highlights the importance of precise demolition and expert crane operation. One very important ingredient is staff. 27 years ago when we first started we found a diamond. Today that diamond retires due to ill health. We are delighted to announce that we have started the Demolition Package at 65 Fleet Street, London for our client McAleer & Rushe.   Works consisting of soft strip, temporary works, facade retention and top-down method of demolition using tower cranes, provided by GCL’s tower crane division, TCUK.   The well known and frequented pub in London, “The Tipperary” a grade 2 listed structure built in 1667, is within the site restraints.   Keep posted for further updates as works progress!!
