𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐨𝐰! 𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞: NED Chair 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲: Industrial Biotechnology 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: UK 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨: 1-2 days per month Now Hiring! NED Chair (Sheffield, UK) – Industrial Biotechnology (with proven experience in scaling microbial biomanufacturing processes);  Our client is an industrial biotechnology startup that’s developing new molecular toolkits and bioreactor hardware for microbe development. The company’s flagship microbial asset is being developed to rapidly ferment end-of-life tyres into high-value molecules and biomaterials. In the near-term they are focused on developing precision-evolved microbes and manufacturing processes to capture end-of-life tyres as fermentation feedstocks and produce high-value molecules and biomaterials. In the longer-term they plan to horizontal scale-out of the core tech stack to build the world’s first evolutionary biofoundry: out-licensing precision-evolved microbial chassis into all biomanufacturing sectors. Their ambition is to scale into a vital technological foundation of a global circular biomanufacturing transition. They now seek a Board Chair with proven experience in scaling microbial biomanufacturing processes out of the lab and into pilot-scale manufacturing and beyond, as well as a commercial track record of closing in- and out- licensing agreements, particularly focused on licensing of biological assets. Additionally, the candidate requires recent experience of raising private investment and scaling innovative teams and company culture. A network across US venture capital firms would be especially advantageous. The team is currently pursuing seed investment and has two ongoing commercial partnerships with biomanufacturers in biomaterials/biochemicals sectors. The Chair will be remunerated with both cash and share options. Board meetings are quarterly, and the role is expected to require 1-2 days per month. For more information or to apply, please contact Jayne McLaughlin on LinkedIn, at jayne.mclaughlin@georgejamesltd.com, or apply on our website https://lnkd.in/ePv56EJZ #industrialbiotech  #chair #biomaterials

They have 2 lead assets ready to start clinical development, and a pipeline of pre-clinical assets. The current team consists of experienced leaders with a proven track record in pharma drug development including project management, target discovery, lead identification, optimization and clinical development. Additionally, they work with a strong strategic network alliance of collaborators, experts, partners, associates and counsellors. They now seek a Chairperson to join their team. 𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐨𝐰! 𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞: Chairperson 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲: Diagnostics 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Cardiff, UK Our Cardiff-based client specialises in affordable, portable, easy-to-use molecular diagnostics. The company span out of the University of South Wales in 2020 and has developed its own platform technology (patent pending). The first product, launched in the UK market in March 2024, is a point-of-care test for Urinary Tract Infections (UTI). UTI diagnostics, in the UK and globally, are demonstrably inadequate, resulting in poor patient outcomes and poor antibiotic stewardship. The aim is to change UTI diagnostics, an objective that has been recognised by NICE as being of significant importance.   They seek a Chair who will bring significant experience at Board level in the med-tech industry (diagnostics or pharma). Experience of working with and growing pre-revenue start-ups is desirable as is experience of raising investment. The next step is to raise Series A investment to propel the commercialisation of the test in the UK and across the globe. The ability to work as part of a diverse team is essential. Specific skills related to the later stages of the development of a medical diagnostic including registration and commercialisation in multiple geographies would be most helpful.   This role will require up to 2 days a month, there are 10 board meetings a year. It will be modestly remunerated, at least before the next fundraise. They are seeking to fill the role as soon as possible.
