Building a sustainable and energy-efficient manufacturing facility was one of our key pre-requisites for our new plant which opened earlier this year. We’re taking advantage of the Algarve being one of the sunniest places in Europe and have installed 682 solar panels at our facility to maximise our on-site solar energy generation. The panels will generate c.300KW of energy which means that 80% of the facility’s energy needs will be supplied by solar power. 🌍 Today, on Earth Day, we're excited to share a major milestone! We've completed a project installing 682 solar panels at our new manufacturing facility in Portugal's sunny Algarve region. These panels generate 300KW of energy, meeting 80% of our facility's needs and marking a 600% increase in on-site solar energy compared to our previous plant. This investment is part of Portugal's Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), supported by the EU, aiming to decarbonise industries and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
