About us
GiftTrees helps lift people out of extreme poverty and counter some of the unavoidable damage to our planet. We do this by funding the creation and maintenance of agroforestry systems for farming families growing produce like fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and spices. By working in partnership with restaurants and epos providers, we enable diners to balance their personal impact and give something good to the world, by funding the planting of a GiftTree on their restaurant bill for just £1.23. More than 10 million diners have happily contributed to GiftTrees to date. GiftTrees is proud to partner with Comtrex, EPOS Now, Lightspeed, Tevalis , Wi-Q, Zonal and many more POS providers. Millions of diners have supported GiftTrees in wonderful destinations like Pied a Terre, Fazenda, The Alchemist, James Martin, Brewski, Cubitt House, April's Kitchen, Stuzzi, The Pig's Head, Sabai Sabai, Marco Pierre White, Breathe and many more... The agroforestry systems that GiftTrees fund, reforest parched land, reverse soil degradation, enable quality harvesting, create jobs and provide income to pay for clothing, food, education and the basics we take for granted. I believe that raising awareness is a vital component towards protecting both people and the planet. I am aware however that most people are just far too busy in their own lives to make a positive impact, which led me onto an idea and one that I would ask for your help in achieving. The International Green Apple Awards are quite possibly the world’s most recognised environmental award. This year marks their 30th year of existence. Yet, few know that The Green Organisation is not only the creators of these prestigious awards, but the driving force behind it. A small group of dedicated individuals who have dedicated 3 decades (to date) running their non-profit organisation and making positive and direct action towards those in need, in countries far from ours through providing mosquito nets, engines and support for those in third world countries. They never push an agenda on anyone, but work continuously towards raising awareness and helping others, and all in the hope that simply by raising awareness, promoting, and sharing news and innovation towards environmental best practice the world will be a better place for everyone. For some time now, The Green Organisation has been working with GiftTrees, who (like the Green Org) work with partners to not only plant trees in countries such as Tanzania but provide professional help and support with local farmers and families towards agroforestry, thereby making every single tree planted not only a source of carbon sequestering but an immediate provider of life, food, shelter and income. I wish to raise awareness of both these organisations and they great work they do. I also want you to be involved, without taking much needed time, away from you. This morning I looked at the LinkedIn pages of both The Green Organisation and GiftTrees and I noted how many followers they have. Between today (3rd November) and Sunday 1st December 2024 I will, in partnership with GiftTrees, plant a tree 🌳 for every NEW FOLLOWER to both The Green Organisation and GiftTrees. All you need to do to help make a massive difference towards protecting our planet and directly impacting on the lives of people who need help in living itself, is to click the links for both organisations and follow them. The more you spread the word, the more trees we plant and the more help we give. It is as simple as that. Please follow them and spread the word to other colleagues, friends, family and customers.
