Our team had an amazing experience at one of East Africa’s largest Health Summits in Tanzania, which brought together 1,835 delegates from 14 countries and 394 organizations! The theme for this year, “Igniting Progress: Joining Efforts for Quality Healthcare through Public-Private Partnerships,” truly resonated with our work in Tanzania. We were honored to represent Girl Effect’s Tujibebe and host a forum on Early Childhood Development, funded by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. Additionally, our team shared valuable insights on our ongoing projects related to HPV and Routine Immunization, supported by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. We also enjoyed connecting with everyone who visited our booth! #TheGirlEffect #Tanzania #Tujibebe

Children represent our future, and their early years significantly shape who they become. Therefore, it’s crucial for parents and caregivers to engage in responsive caregiving to foster children’s development and well-being. If you’re attending the Annual Health Summit in Tanzania from October 1st to 3rd, we invite you to join our Tujibebe team and the distinguished panel at our forum. We’ll be sharing insights from our Mzazi Hodari (courageous parent) program and discussing how we can collectively build a stronger nation by nurturing healthy children. We look forward to seeing you there! #TheGirlEffect Tanzania Health Summit
"Children are our future. And those first years of their lives have a big influence on who they become. That's why it's imperative for parents and caregivers to practice responsive caregiving to enhance children's development and well being. If you're attending the Annual Health Summit this october, please join us and our esteemed panel at our forum to discuss all our learnings from our Mzazi Hodari program and how, together, we can build our nation by building healthy children. See you there!" #GirlEffect Tanzania Health Summit

I have come to New York for #UNGA for more than a decade. And every year, it feels like more of the same: a platform for (old) (male) world leaders to make speeches and promises they are rarely able to keep, focused on subjects and crises they have rarely experienced themselves. 🌐 In contrast, spending this morning with Malala and more than 50 girl activists from around the world felt like a rush of fresh air. Together, they took world leaders to task for failing to prioritize girls in the design and content of the upcoming #SummitoftheFuture. And they reminded the crowd gathered that world leaders aren't experts in what girls want -- girls are. As Malala rightfully said, as we imagine the future world that girls will inherit, we must listen to their vision, fund their work, and follow their lead. 📣 Alongside this stunt, I'm so proud of the months of collaborative work by girls and girl-centric partner organizations that went into launching www.whatgirlswant.com today in an effort to center what girls have told us they need, want, and deserve. And I'm so grateful for the brilliant, creative partnership of Meagan Bond and Sophie Lucas + the sidewalk art from Chalk Back who helped bring the girls' vision to life. 💻

We are delighted to be honored at this year’s Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women dinner. As we reflect on the past 15 years, we are incredibly proud of our team and community of young people who work every day to unleash girls’ potential. Co-hosted by Salma Hayek Pinault and François-Henri Pinault, Camila Alves McConaughey, Matthew McConaughey, Carmelo Anthony, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Urs Fischer, Kim Kardashian, Donatella Versace, Naomi Watts, and Billy Crudup, the Kering Foundation presented its third annual Caring for Women dinner in New York City. Viola Davis delivered a powerful keynote speech about what it means for women and girls to be free from violence. Raising awareness and funds for organizations committed to confronting gender-based violence, this year’s event benefits Girl Effect, It’s On Us, and The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV). An auction featured one-of-a-kind items and experiences from Kering and its Houses, including Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, BALENCIAGA, Alexander McQueen , Boucheron and Pomellato . The audience of influential guests from fashion, media, entertainment, and the arts enjoyed a closing performance by award-winning singer-songwriter Raye.
