We wanted to do a welcome shout out to one of our new customers, the fabulous Gladstone's Library 📚. Based in Hawarden, it is the UK's finest residential library, boasting 26 bedrooms 🛏️, an on-site restaurant 🍽️, and a comfortable guest lounge 🛋️. The organisation is a self-sustaining registered charity: every donation made and pound spent there goes directly into maintaining the site and the collections it protects 🏛️. They have conference and meeting rooms available for hire, along with a lively programme of events 📅, including talks 🎤, masterclasses 📖, and residential courses 🏫. Wonderful to have been back to one of my favourite places to show but the smallest glimpse into the Victorian collections of Chester Cathedral at the British Assiciation of Victorian Studies heritage fair at Gladstone's Library Huge congrats to colleagues and friends Alexandra, Isobel and Louisa for organising such an amazing event and great talks! (Photo of the Library NOT taken this week. We were instead treated to Biblical downpours which made transporting delicate items more difficult than usual!)

I've had a great morning at Gladstone's Library in Hawarden with Natalie Edwards, where we met with Alice and Jade to discuss their fantastic initiative, 'Archives in a Box'. They’re working with young people (aged 16-24), introducing them to the world of archives, explaining their importance, and showcasing some of the amazing collections the library holds. We enjoyed brainstorming ideas with them on how to make this topic even more engaging and relevant for the younger generation.
