Hybrid on the down low? While major companies are pushing for a full return to the office, some managers are quietly letting their teams work from home. This approach, known as "hushed hybrid", might seem like a win with good intentions, but it can stir up issues of favouritism and policy rebellion. This article explores the delicate balance managers and HR face with this covert strategy, and ways to support employees without damaging company culture. When was the last time you really looked at your company’s org chart? Your org chart is more than just a list of who does what. It’s like a map showing how your business is set up – who’s leading, how teams connect, and how much work your managers and team members are taking on. It even gives clues about the culture of your company. But when should you take a closer look at your org chart, and what should you look for? Here are some times to check if it’s still doing its job: Regularly – Review your org chart regularly to make sure it keeps up with any changes or new goals. Your organisation needs to be responsive to deal with changes. A static structure will not be agile when you need it. New projects – When starting something big, like an expansion or adding a new service. What people do, how they do it and who does what is critical to any project success. Use the skills you have in your business to deliver. Team overload – If teams keep asking for more help because the workload’s too high. We all have one superstar who can carry the team but sharing the load and not replying on one person is far better for both the company and the individual. Shifting culture – If you’re trying to change how things are done or improve your work environment. Lockdown did a lot to wake everyone up to the needs to work together for the good of each other and that mindset needs to continue in the ever change world! Cutting costs – When it’s time to save money, like adjusting staff or finding more efficient ways to work. Understand the numbers and involve the team in making necessary changes for the long term of the business. A well-structured org chart should show clear roles that help meet your big goals. It should help you see where people are needed and where tech might save time and money. It also helps you spot areas for sharing ideas and solving problems together. Keeping your org chart up-to-date and tied to your business goals helps you stay on track and ready for what’s next. If you want expert help designing the right setup for your team, consider calling in a specialist who can make sure you have a structure that’s built to succeed. #organisationdesign #rightfit #structure #construction
