The day has finally arrived! We’re beyond excited to unveil Golden Charter’s fresh new look and the launch of our brand-new advertising campaign, reaching audiences across TV, radio, display and social. It’s designed to help more people see why their funeral plan is in the very best of hands with Golden Charter, and their local independent funeral director. A massive thank you to our amazing agency partners who helped bring our vision to life: Flourish Marketing Ltd, Story Group, The Media Shop Scotland, Red McGregor Marketing, Grayling PR and ClickThrough Marketing. And now, we’re thrilled to introduce our new advert, produced by award-winning director Michael J Ferns and Greenroom Films. We couldn’t be prouder – it’s been a true labour of love over the past few months.
Golden Charter Ltd
Financial Services
Committed to independent funeral directors since 1990
About us
Golden Charter is one of the UK’s market largest pre-paid funeral plan providers, with a network of nearly 2,900 independent funeral directors throughout the UK. The company is owned by an association of independent funeral directors, and was founded with the aim of safeguarding the future of local, often family-run businesses. With over 30 years’ experience, almost 900,000 people have chosen to plan ahead with us. Our plan holders have the opportunity to choose which funeral director will attend to their wishes. In September 2016, we joined forces with The Royal British Legion and Poppyscotland to raise funds for the Armed Forces community. For every funeral plan sold through our website and by participating funeral directors, £25 is donated to the charities. Over the past six years, we have raised over £600,000. Golden Charter Limited trading as Golden Charter Funeral Plans is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority FRN: 965279.

This week, we’re proud to launch our 9th year in partnership with the Royal British Legion and Poppyscotland. Together with our network of independent funeral directors, we’ve already raised over £800,000, and we’re eager to reach new milestones this campaign year! The funds raised through this campaign are greatly appreciated by both charities and every donation makes a real difference to the lives of members of our Armed Forces community. These charities work hard to provide lifelong support for serving and ex-serving personnel, every day of the week, all year round. We can’t wait to see what we can achieve with our partners this year.

Why now? All brands need to keep pace with changes in the market. Our own industry has seen some significant shifts in terms of the potential funeral plan buyers, and not just who but how and why they’re making their purchase. It has been almost four years since we actively reviewed our brand positioning, and a lot has changed. That’s why we’re changing, too. We’re ready to launch an exciting new direction, with a fresh new look and a stylish new TV ad at the centre of our upcoming campaign. Our engaging approach will ensure we respond to the needs of a new generation of customers, and best support our funeral director network of independently owned and local businesses throughout the UK. We’ll show customers that with a funeral plan from Golden Charter they’re not just taking care of their funeral. They’re taking care of their family, too. Stay tuned – all will be revealed tomorrow.

This week we hosted the second of three regional face-to-face events for our most engaged funeral director partners. Firms from across Scotland and the North of England joined us in Glasgow for a business-focused session where our growth strategy, brand and how we work together to drive mutual benefit in the fast-evolving marketplace were on the agenda. Our third and final event of the year takes place in London in early November and we hope to see many of our valued partners from the South there to find out more about the transformation programme underway at Golden Charter.
