Heathrow Airport closed after a substation fire caused a power outage. Heathrow Airport has been closed until at least midnight tonight (21st March) after experiencing a major power outage following a fire at a west London electrical substation. Passengers were asked not to travel to the airport “under any circumstances”, while British Airways said it would not be operating flights out of its global hub “until further notice”. At least 1,351 flights to or from Heathrow today will be directly impacted and that doesn’t account for the inevitable knock-on effects from the all-day shutdown. Our team at Good Travel Management are currently running searches and contacting travellers that may be affected by the airport closure. If you are due to travel today or over the weekend and you have any questions, please give our team a call.

Thank you The BTA and The Advantage Travel Partnership for a cracking day at #CTS2025 The opening session on Breaking Barriers really set the tone: stacks of thought provoking DE&I content throughout the day. Some stats that really made me think: - 25% of people in the UK have some sort of disability - We will have step free trains in 100 years time (!) - The Purple Pound is the term for the spending power of disabled people. £284bn in total annually. Baroness Grey-Thompson, via the Aviation Task & Finish Group, has recently compiled 149 recommendations for improvements to air travel for disabled passengers. Let’s see where this goes…
