  • Last month our staff rolled up their sleeves and helped carry out essential garden maintenance in the residential gardens at Seashell Trust in Greater Manchester. We have two #GovernmentHubs in development in #Manchester and days like these help unlock further #SocialValue in our projects through supporting society, the economy and the environment, ensuring we deliver the best value for communities. Members of the team had a fantastic time volunteering with the charity, who support children and young adults with complex learning difficulties, disabilities and additional communication needs. #TransformingCivilService

  • We are delighted to announce news of our success in the #GovProp24 Awards! 🏆 Our Project Director Sarah Mackintosh-Smith won in the Leadership category. Sarah managed our Peterborough, Quay House build and fit-out. She created a strong, integrated team to work through the delivery and any challenges a project of this scope may have. This resulted in a project delivered on time and to scope, allowing for a smooth move-in for the civil servants who are based there. The Quay House project also achieved Highly Commended in the Project of the Year award. The Peterborough hub was part of the city’s £120 million vibrant regeneration scheme and now offers over 1200 civil servants a smart, flexible work environment which enhances productivity. We also achieved Highly Commended in the Transforming Places category for the work our #PropTech team have undertaken installing networks for GovWifi throughout Government Offices Great George Street in London, a historically significant site, delivering a fast resilient network for civil servants despite the restrictions of a listed building. Congratulations to all those involved in these projects, and all the shortlisted and winning entries in this year's Government Property Awards 2024. #TransformingCivilService #WeAreGPA Government Property Function

  • Today we’re pleased to announce that Mark Bourgeois has been appointed as our permanent Chief Executive Officer. Mark joined us in November 2023 as interim CEO. In that time we’ve grown to manage over 1 million square metres of the government’s property portfolio, supporting more than 100,000 civil servants in offices around the UK. We are continuing to make great progress in joining up the government’s office estate, delivering the #GovernmentHub Programme, making major changes to the London estate, and leading the introduction of interoperable property technology to enable Civil Service productivity.  Mark brings over 30 years’ experience in strategic and operational leadership within the commercial real estate sector. He will continue to work closely with our Board and executive team as we deliver a smaller, better-connected, better-quality and greener government office estate. Mark said: "I am thrilled to be appointed as the permanent CEO at such a pivotal time for the GPA. During my time as interim, the collaborative support from departmental clients has been excellent and I’m hugely grateful to impressively talented colleagues for all their continued dedication and commitment. We’re well placed to further strengthen the GPA culture, deliver financial efficiencies and productivity gains across the civil service, all in support of the Government’s missions. I’m looking forward to the continued challenge." Georgia Gould MP, Parliamentary Secretary for the Cabinet Office, said: "With decades of experience, Mark will be instrumental in enhancing the financial and environmental performance of the government estate while delivering world-class workplaces for civil servants nationwide.” Read the full press release: https://lnkd.in/eWwb3uCA #WeAreGPA

Earlier this month we teamed up with staff from UK Home Office and Wates Group to help create a lavender border in the walled garden at Heathfield Ecology Centre in #Croydon, in memory of one of Heathfield's regular visitors. Members of the team had a positive time carrying out essential garden maintenance for the group, who provide a sanctuary for various creatures including sheep, newts and bees, as well as numerous species of plants and trees. Our latest #GovernmentHub in Croydon is approaching occupation and volunteering days like these help to reinforce our commitment to delivering the most impactful value for society, the economy and the environment through our projects. #SocialValue #TransformingCivilService #WeAreGPA
