Earlier this week GPsurgery.net director Tim Green heard from one of our GP practice customers that their Navigator website had been ranked by the ICB in the top 5 websites out of all the practices in their area. ‘They were delighted,’ says Tim, ‘especially since this unexpected accolade was achieved, to quote the practice manager, “without us doing anything.” ‘ When we put our heads together to develop our Navigator website product, our core aim was to do all the heavy lifting for the practice. ‘It looks like we’ve certainly achieved that for this particular customer,’ says Tim. The Hemingway app is a fantastic way to streamline your website content. The app highlights problems on key pages of your website and even has a readability grade, which you can use to assess your existing copy. NHS England recommends using the app as part of the benchmarking and improvement toolkit for GP practice websites. After a break over the summer holidays, we’re back with an update from GPsurgery.net. It’s been another very busy period for the onboarding team and last week we had a record-breaking number of website go-lives! It’s wonderful to see so many new sites launched after weeks of hard work and collaboration with our practice customers. During these more hectic periods we use our own regular team check-ins to help us keep on track - here’s a snapshot from our most recent company standup 👋😄 In these sessions we also enjoy sharing what we’ve been up to beyond work. At the weekend Lauren went daytime clubbing in Canterbury - she was home in bed with a cup of tea by 9pm! And Millie’s been exploring the Sussex coastline on her bike, soaking up the last of the sunshine before Autumn truly sets in. 📢 The deadline to sign up to the NHS England online patient registration service is drawing near! 📢 The ‘Register with a GP surgery service’ makes it even easier to collect online registration requests from your patients, and links up neatly with a patient’s NHS number and NHS account. The UK’s libraries are at the heart of our communities. A wonderful new initiative will soon be providing library staff with the skills to help patients get the hang of the NHS App. Announcing the initiative, NHS England says that ‘by providing librarians with the right tools and support, they will be able to play a key part in helping people to use the NHS App and NHS.UK to better understand and manage their health.’ This is a great step towards reducing pressures on care navigators who take hundreds of calls each day by helping more patients manage their healthcare online. One of the most important things we do at GPsurgery.net is provide ongoing support to our GP practice website customers. This means we spend time learning about new website requirements direct from the NHS and work to help our practices continually improve their sites. When Kelly Wellman was given the job of making sure the Memorial Medical Centre website was up to scratch, her priority was patient care. “We want our website to be accessible, easy for our patients to use and compliant with all the required standards,” she says. Kelly, who is Data Quality and Project Administrator at the practice, started by reviewing the website audit report from the GP transformation team at NHS Kent and Medway ICB. “The report gave the results for all the practices in Sittingbourne PCN and we were pleased to see that we had done pretty well,” says Kelly. “There’s always room for improvement though, so my first port of call was to ask the team at our website provider, GPsurgery.net, to look at the results and make the changes needed to improve the website.” You can read more about how we helped Kelly to give her website a refresh in our newest article ⬇️ #GPSurgeryNet #GPPracticeWebsites
