Building Health, Hope and Happiness through the Power of Nature.
About us
Green Light Trust is a registered charity that believes in the power of nature to transform lives. With a core ethos around protection of our natural environment, we bring people and nature together in woodland across East Anglia, UK, delivering:- - Wellbeing and educational courses for adults and children who face personal and health challenges - Team development, leadership and mental health awareness days for businesses Since our formation in 1989, we’ve helped thousands of people challenged with mental health issues, taught skills and self-esteem to children and adults who have become disengaged, and motivated and supported huge numbers of people seeking employment opportunities or an escape from their addictive or abusive pasts. We work closely with businesses to develop their teams and improve staff engagement through our partnership schemes. We also work with schools, funders and community partners to make a real difference to people in the localities in which we operate.

Many participants who have attended our #woodland activities over the last eight years will have met Jack Pynn, our Senior Operations Manager. As Jack bids us farewell to move onto an exciting new chapter in his career, we took a trip down memory lane with him to hear about some of his favourite moments and what he feels he’s learnt in this time. You can read Jack's farewell blog here https://lnkd.in/eJSJdefE

Investment in nature is investment in future growth. 🌱 This year marks the 75th anniversary of The National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 - a historic and ground-breaking piece of legislation which supported the intrinsic link between people and the natural environment. Today, Natural England hosted a parliamentary reception with speeches from Tony Juniper, Marian Spain, Secretary of State Steve Reed MP and youth-led community organisation, Young Wilders, to celebrate this landmark achievement and set out a new vision for the next 75 years – working together across society to invest in nature and sustain future generations. Growing nature for health, wealth and security will sit at the very heart of our work. #NatureRecovery #CountrysideAct #Growth #Health #Wealth

Beautiful misty day at the Foundry in #suffolk today, as a willing bunch of Green Light Trust team were joined by our friends at Barenbrug UK who volunteered to help. Described by Ryan who led proceedings as 'fun pruning- chopping- dragging- chucking things in skips kind of day' ☀☘🕸 🍂 #volunteering #autumn #greenhealing Lindsay Limmer Oscar Covington-Cross

Amazing fungi names - very suitable for Halloween! 🎃🍄
A connection with nature is known to be a key contributor to increased wellbeing. Nature connection is more profound than just being ‘in nature’. One way to become more nature connected is to notice more about the nature in your surroundings. And that’s where fungi can be a secret weapon in encouraging children and adults alike to take more notice. Fungi are incredibly varied but it’s their common names that really cause interest, or disgust, or both. So this time of year, keep a look out for moon poo, witches butter, stink horns, deadman’s fingers, jelly ears, dog’s vomit, elf cups, pixie saddles, death cap, destroying angel or even hairy disco nuts! (Many other fungi available. Look, touch but don’t eat unless you’re 100%!) 🍄🍄🟫 #wellbeing #nature #greenlighttrust #health #mycology #natureconnection #mushroom #universityofessex

We wouldn’t want every day the same… a young people’s mental health group today, starting with feather sticks, then monopoly (all day of course) on their newly built table and an (ex)owl inspection to finish.
