Here at Green Tourism, we are delighted to be one of the sustainability certifications that Booking.com are working with to support their accommodations on their sustainability journeys. #GreenTourism #Sustainability #GreenCertification #hospitality #accommodation #travel Diane Knight Scott Maclean Lisa Wilson
At Booking.com, we know sustainability plays an increasingly crucial role in how travel businesses approach their operations. And for those who have invested in achieving a credible third-party certification, having that clearly displayed to potential guests is also increasingly important. That’s why we're very excited to announce that our accommodation partners will now be able to access tailored insights and support that guides them towards the third-party certifications that are best suited to their property’s profile, needs and operations. Accommodations that have achieved a third-party certification will have that information clearly displayed on Booking.com, and travelers can filter their searches accordingly. To date, more than 18.000 accommodations have a third-party certification displayed on our platform – and we’re looking forward to helping more partners join them and continue their journey! Check out Skift's Take on this exciting new development. https://lnkd.in/dyaNjZCe

In the UK alone Wrap estimates that food waste currently costs the UK Hospitality and Food Service sector £3.2 billion every year. This is why food waste occupies such an important place in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (which aim to halve food waste by 2030) and why we place such a strong emphasis on food waste reduction in our award criteria. Today (29 September) is the International Day of Awareness on Food Loss and Waste Prevention.
