🌱 We are happy to announce that we were Highly Commended last night in the Best Sustainability Initiative category for the Housebuilder Awards! 🌱 This recognition reflects our team’s dedication to building homes that are not only better than net zero but also create climate positive places for communities. The Hook Norton project exemplifies this commitment, combining cutting-edge sustainability with community-driven values. These twelve homes and the community centre, developed in partnership with the Hook Norton Community Land Trust, set a new standard for affordable, low-carbon living. Our Co-Founder & Innovation Director, Ian Pritchett, and our Development & Communications Director, Caroline Radford (Chandler), were there to accept the award. We build homes that are better than net zero and climate positive places
About us
Greencore Homes builds homes that are better than net zero and climate positive places. Most housebuilders define net zero only in terms of operational carbon and energy efficiency. Greencore Homes goes further than that and builds timber homes that are net zero in operation, better than net zero embodied carbon in the structure of each home and ultra-low embodied carbon in construction of the whole home. With significant investment from majority shareholder M&G, strong relationships with partners and an experienced senior leadership team; Greencore Homes has ambitious targets to build 10,000 homes that are better than net zero by 2035.

Since 2022, M&G's Catalyst has invested £45 million into Greencore Homes, a UK housebuilder constructing climate positive homes. Greencore’s innovative and science-led approach to construction can reduce carbon emissions during the housebuilding process – a transformative approach for the sector. We look forward to joining industry leaders at the International Investment Summit, organised by the Department for Business and Trade, on Monday in London: https://lnkd.in/g24-umC9 #UKInvestment

Greencore is pleased to support this statement from Bioregional and other key industry experts. Reform to the planning system is essential, but it must not take place at the expense of our climate commitments!
The current National Planning Policy Framework is not fit for purpose in responding to the climate crisis. 🏘️ So, we've joined forces with leading industry bodies to advocate for a planning system that truly addresses the scale and urgency of the climate and ecological emergency. 🤝🌍 📢 Our key proposals are: 1. The planning system must prioritise action on climate, and this should be articulated through a definition of the purpose of planning in the NPPF that reflects the crucial role of planning in securing our future in a changing climate 2. The carbon impact of planning proposals must be accounted and inform planning decisions and plan-making 3. The NPPF must be reviewed to give increased direction and urgency to the opportunities for planning and development to support resilience and adaptation. These changes are essential for a sustainable future and urge the government to take immediate action. ⏰🌱 The joint statement has been signed by the incredible group of industry leaders below, and you can read it in full on our blog 👉 https://lnkd.in/giFYWQNm Sue Riddlestone OBE, CEO & co-founder, Bioregional Clare Murray, Associate, Head of Sustainability, Levitt Bernstein Simon McWhirter, Director of Policy, UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) Simon Corbey, CEO, Alliance for Sustainable Building Products Lynne Sullivan RIBA OBE, Chair, Good Homes Alliance Jamie Peters, Interim CEO, Friends of the Earth England, Wales and Northern Ireland Richard Dilks, CEO, CoMoUK Douglas McNab, Director of Environmental Planning, LUC Thomas Lefevre, CEO, Etude Jon Bootland, CEO, Passivhaus Trust Dr Hugh.
