🌍 Can We Meet the UN’s Call for a 42% Emissions Cut by 2030? The latest UN Emissions Gap Report is clear: we need a 42% reduction in global emissions by 2030 to keep warming below 1.5°C. But at our current pace, we're on track for up to 2.6°C of warming. Here are some key takeaways from the report: 🔹 By 2035, emissions must drop 57% to stay on the 1.5°C path. 🔹 Only 3 countries have strengthened 2030 targets since COP28. 🔹 A six-fold increase in mitigation investment is needed. With COP29 in Baku approaching, it’s a crucial time to reflect on how businesses and policymakers can work together to close this gap. Read the full feature here: https://lnkd.in/evv4ZJK6

It's a jungle out there! 🦁🐘🐯 On 12 Nov, GM Business Growth Hub is delighted to be hosting its first ever ‘Workplace Safari’ in conjunction with Thomas Kneale & Co Limited. During this unique event, we will take a small group of guests to visit Thomas Kneale’s warehouse in Ancoats where we can: 💡learn about their excellent business practices (particularly around #manufacturing, #decarbonisation, #BeeNetZero, #growth, #innovation, #workforcedevelopment, #socialimpact, and #healthandwellbeing) 💡 have a tour of their workplace 💡 ask Brett Mendell and Sonny Clements anything you want to know about the business and their experiences (nothing is off the table...) 💡 network with like-minded professionals 🤝 Thomas Kneale & Co Limited is one of the UK’s largest B2B providers of bedroom and bathroom textiles, with a wide-ranging customer base including blue chip multi-national organisations, private businesses and a number of Government Departments. Witnessing the globalisation of the textile trade, a number of recessions and economic challenges, the company has remained steadfast, adapting and developing throughout. Responding to the ever-changing business environment, the business kept on investing in different aspects of the company; reducing their carbon footprint and upskilling their workforce. In April 2023, Thomas Kneale became an inaugural recipient of The King's Awards for Enterprise in the Sustainable Development category, awarded to just 15 businesses nationwide.🏆 🎟 Book your place and join our adventure here!👉https://lnkd.in/enx3q3GC NB This event is aimed at those who can affect change within their organisation.
