What a surreal day at The House of Lords! 🎉 Surrounded by Olympic legends from Daley Thompson to Dame Kelly Holmes—who it turns out is also a fan of Hip Pop! The star of the day was Tessa Sanderson celebrating her gold medal win from 40 years ago 🥇. Tessa’s backstory is genuinely inspiring. Raised in the West Midlands, it was her school PE teacher, Barbara Richards, who spotted her potential. Barbara gave a great speech, sharing how she’d threaten Tessa with detention if she skipped training! 😂 Clearly, it worked wonders, propelling Tessa on a path that’s inspired loads of people to chase their dreams without looking back. Honestly, I felt a bit like a fish out of water among all these sporting greats but honoured to celebrate such a massive milestone with them. Big shout out to Rebecca Valentine for pulling off such an ace day and evening and great to meet Hannah Ashby Ward. Cheers for the memories! 🙌 #HouseofLords #Athletics #Olympics

The young are all narcissistic snowflakes. Every older person lacks spark and imagination. Nonsense! 🤦🏻♂️ Ageist stereotypes hold all of us back – at every age. One way to take them down is to yank the generations out of their silos and get everyone mixing again. Spending time with people of different ages makes us happier – and less ageist. After all, nothing shoots down stereotypes more than getting to know the people being stereotyped. Blending the generations also pays dividends in the workplace, where the experience, patience and big-picture thinking of older employees can dovetail with the energy and modern outlook of younger ones. These days, we are living better for longer than ever before. And that means the future is multigenerational. What is your organisation doing to bring the generations back together?
