We were thrilled to host Pollinating London Together's (PLT) Equinox Dinner earlier this week. PLT is an Livery initiative set up on 2020, instigated by the Worshipful Companies of Wax Chandlers and Gardeners to raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity and pollinators and to create spaces in London where natural pollinators thrive. Our chefs were excited by the prospect of creating a sustainable menu of Twice-baked Keens Mature Cheddar Soufflé, Pan Seared Fillet of Cornish Hake or Roasted Heritage Carrot Wellington, and Irish Cream Crème Brûlée. 2025 sees a special year for the Grocers’ Company, with the 600th anniversary of our acquisition of a 4-acre site for the princely sum of £213 8s and 6d. Commemorating this huge milestone is a new exhibition, curated by Past Master Sir Rupert Gavin and Company Historian, Helen Clifford to be displayed in the Piper Room. The exhibition tells the fascinating narrative of the purchase and build of the first Hall and charts the changing urban landscape of the City of London between 1300 and 1500.
