It's HOT in the CITY!!! But plants can help.....massively! This Biotecture green wall in London aptly demonstrates the cooling power of plants and how they protect us and the fabric of the building from the heat of the summer. And then in the evenings when all the thermal energy that has been absorbed by buildings during the day begins to re-radiates and take street level temperatures even hotter remember that green walls provide demonstrable long lasting cooling! Stay cool! Stay in the shade when you can (ideally under a tree!). Researchers at the University of Surrey recently used our PlantBox green wall system to test the air pollution absorbing capabilities of different plants. Plants play a key role in cleansing the air by trapping pollutant particles on their leaves, which are then safely washed away by rain. The new study confirms previous research that shows a good mixture of plant species produces the most effective green walls.🌱 Out of the 10 species tested, Evergreen Candytuft and Ivy have emerged as champions in capturing pollutants, both large and small. Creating our hand-finished industrial cladding panels to frame this gorgeous #livingwall 🌿 Our team meticulously etched treated and polished every steel panel by hand (yes, by hand) to give this wall its authentic charm.
