Fine Food Digest editor Michael Lane has recently got back from SIAL Paris – the world’s largest food & drink trade show While he didn’t get around to seeing all 7,500 exhibitors, he did manage to find a few innovative gems, catch up with old friends and make a number of new international contacts as he walked the aisles. #sialparis #food #tradeshow #foodanddrink #foodtradeshow #paris

This time last year, Christabel Cairns and her partner Roberto were in Japan and made a special trip to the very south to Shibushi in Kagoshima to visit Wakohen Inc. and learn all about their tea and matcha production. From driving the “Hurricane machine” (a specially designed tractor that mimics the environment of a hurricane in micro form as a method of natural pest control), to seeing the tea being harvested, the fascinating cyclical system of natural tea waste manure, visiting the matcha room (no photos allowed in there, but Christabel said it was like being in a matcha snow globe!), to tasting a range of their delicious teas, and having lunch in a tea-themed restaurant, Satoshi and the team gave a brilliant tour and introduction to their award-winning teas. An amazing experience. No strangers to success in Great Taste, the Wakohen team continued their winning streak with a 3-star for their Horiguchi Tea Farm’s Kakuhori Benifuuki Black Tea in 2024 – check them out! #matcha #tea #japanesegreentea #japanesetea #tealover #greentea #blacktea #japan
