So today we are proud to have been part of handing over a brand new van to a customer of JTD BUILDING SUPPLIES LIMITED. The van was won in a competition run exclusively for our members sponsored by Knauf Drywall. The lucky contractor submitted his entry after using Knauf Drywall products in a loft conversion. We also kitted out the winner in h&b’s own brand Good & Proper workwear. Happy customers all round.

h&b member St Andrews Timber & Building Supplies has appointed Jake Valente as its first Group Operations Manager as the Edinburgh-based merchant continues to expand. Jake steps up into the newly created role after six years with the family-run business - he was most recently branch manager at its Prestonfield headquarters. He has over 40 years of experience in the sector and will take on responsibility for all four branches - Prestonfield and Stenhouse in Edinburgh, as well as Livingston and Paisley. At our recent members' activity day's gala evening we raised £4000 for our designated charity, Pink Ribbon Foundation. The Pink Ribbon Foundation is a grant-making trust with a mission to fund projects and provide financial support to UK charities which relieve the needs of people who are suffering from or who have been affected by breast cancer or who work to advance the understanding of breast cancer, its early detection and treatment. It's a great cause and one that we are delighted to support. One of the Foundation's missions is to encourage women to check their breasts regularly, so here is a handy guide on how to look for any changes. Use it, pass it on. Another amazing Activity Day for our members and suppliers last week. Lots of great business was done, best practice shared, and of course, we all enjoyed ourselves too! Merchants are a competitive lot, so there was fierce rivalry on the fairways, the race track, and the lake for golf, go-karting, and dragon boat racing.
