Innovation to rebuild lives

About us

We are a leading provider of bold and innovative interventions, training, and education that help break the cycle of abuse. Adopting a trauma-informed approach in everything we do, we create safe spaces for victims and hold perpetrators to account to foster understanding, drive behaviour change, and help rebuild lives. Our rehabilitative interventions are both community based as well as embedded within the criminal justice system. Our primary objective is to prevent harmful behaviours from becoming entrenched and being passed down through generations by addressing the root cause of criminality. However, we know that we can’t do this alone. Renowned for our track record in evidence-based and effective interventions and training, we work strategically with a range of local and national partners and policy makers to drive long-lasting transformative change within the system.

  • We're recruiting for sessional CARA facilitators in Cambridgeshire to help us deliver our innovative CARA intervention to those causing harm in couple relationships. We are looking for skilled practitioners who have experience in delivering group work, a knowledge of domestic abuse issues and an aptitude and ability to engage individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds. Full training will be given, providing opportunities to develop and hone skills in motivational interviewing and to see the powerful impact of group work.  Workshops are delivered on a Saturday, and you will be required to be available 9am to 4pm on the days you are booked to deliver CARA. There is no requirement to be available each week, instead we are looking to recruit a pool of facilitators who will be scheduled to deliver CARA Cohorts subject to their availability and proximity to the delivery sites. In addition to the hourly salary, reasonable mileage and expenses attached to delivery will also be provided. Facilitators will be required to commit to a minimum delivery of 2 cohorts (4 workshops) per year. If this sounds up your street, we'd love to hear from you! Apply here: https://lnkd.in/eAHitf2V

  • Alongside our work with perpetrators, we are proud to be delivering the Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) Service on the Isle of Wight. We understand that survivors of sexual violence and abuse often feel isolated, unsure of where to turn, and sometimes afraid to trust. The ISVA team is dedicated to creating a safe space where survivors can explore their options and feel empowered to make decisions that are right for them. In 2023/24, we supported 261 survivors of sexual violence and abuse, amongst them children and young people, older people aged 55+, and men, who often struggle to find services tailored to their needs. We supported 14 clients in court, one of whom had been in our service for five years waiting for repeatedly delayed trial dates, demonstrating the extensive and dedicated work of practitioners in ensuring clients remain supported throughout lengthy criminal justice processes.

  • Our unique DARE training equips frontline professionals with the confidence to engage domestic abuse perpetrators and offenders, and to play their part in adopting a routine enquiry approach to domestic abuse.  In 2023/24, we trained 496 professionals across Gloucestershire, Northumbria, Somerset and Hampshire in using the DARE Toolkit.

  • One of the key challenges facing women in the criminal justice system is that traditional approaches fail to recognise and address their unique circumstances and needs, particularly their experiences as both victims and offenders. These challenges stem from a system that is traditionally designed around male offenders, often overlooking the unique experiences and vulnerabilities of women. Many women involved in the criminal justice system have experienced complex trauma, including domestic and sexual abuse from a young age (in JUNO, approximately 90% of participants have experienced domestic or sexual abuse as children or adults). Our JUNO programme for female offenders who have received a conditional caution aims to address that. In 2023/24, we supported 91 women to address what has happened in their lives and led to offending behaviour, and - with the help of other support services - to make positive changes.

  • Hampton Trust is made up of many amazing women and men who care passionately about women's right to live free from violence and abuse. To mark International Women's Day, we have asked our staff what female empowerment means to them, and to share their thoughts through quotes, stories, images and reflections. Here is what they said:

  • Awareness and behaviour change interventions for those committing domestic abuse are at the heart of what we do. In 2023/24, we worked with 1603 offenders and perpetrators of domestic abuse as part of our CARA, ADAPT and Caring Dads programmes. We help them realise that their behaviours are abusive and work with them to change these harmful behaviours. We also support them with referrals to other services that can help them overcome some of the underlying problems such as drug and alcohol abuse and ill mental health.

  • In 2023/24, we supported 1026 victims and survivors alongside our perpetrator interventions. Our programmes and interventions might be focused on perpetrators, but we always ensure victims and survivors are supported, too. When we work with perpetrators of domestic abuse through CARA, ADAPT, or Caring Dads, our Domestic Abuse Safety Advisors (DASA) also contact current and former partners to help increase their physical safety as well as their emotional and psychological wellbeing. This includes help with managing the changes that may occur as a result of the intervention and support with referrals to additional specialist support services. Read the full Impact Report here:
