You might expect there to be clear rules about what should happened to a family pet when a relationship comes to an end. Sadly, this is not the case. In her latest blog, family Solicitor, Debra Jackson, takes a look at the rise of the ‘Pup-nup’, and whether you should consider this when you buy or adopt a new family pet. https://lnkd.in/efshfjk7 #pupnup #prenup #divorce #divorcelaw #familylaw #york #yorkbusiness #yorkshiresolicitors

It’s a fantastic milestone when trainees qualify to become Solicitors, and we are delighted to announce that four of our trainees are now qualified. Charlotte Bowen is remaining in the Family law department, headed up by Amy Foweather. Daniel Burton continues to work within the Commercial team, alongside Matt Rowley. Sophie Crane has qualified into the Private Client department headed up by Edward Ryder. George Sellers is specialising in Litigation, Disputes and Resolution, working alongside the head of department, Simon Black. All have completed a two-year training contract with Harrowells. The nature of our business means that we can provide a variety of work to our trainees, across different types of clients, locations and team structures. Trainees work alongside specialists from different areas of law, advising on sometimes complex and high value matters. In all cases, they get early opportunities to interact directly with clients and so hone their advisory skills as well as develop their legal expertise. We would like to congratulate all of our newly qualified Solicitors. We look forward to seeing your careers continue to flourish. Robert Onyett Clare Brown Peter Mills Matthew Hayward Richard H. A team from Harrowells took part in the Herriot Hike last weekend, in aid of Herriot Hospice, based in Thirsk. We’re proud to support this fantastic charity, which provides care for people over a wide area of North Yorkshire. The Hike has already raised over £5,000, with donations still coming in. The 9-mile walk included some stunning views, starting and finishing at Sutton Bank visitor centre. The team enjoyed a much-deserved cake and cuppa halfway around at High Paradise Farm. Our own surveys highlight the exceptional service which we offer to our clients and professional partners. So it’s great to see that an impartial third party has gathered the same positive feedback which we receive directly. Every year, Legal 500 publish a report which aims to assess the quality of advice and work undertaken by the UK’s leading law firms, including Harrowells. The assessment process is thorough, including examination of case studies and crucially, gaining impartial feedback from clients of each law firm. This feedback is given directly to Legal 500 from our clients and the validity is certified by them. The 2025 Legal 500 report has just been released and we are delighted to announce that we have received formal recognition in the following practice areas: Family Corporate & Commercial Commercial Property Commercial Litigation Clinical Negligence – Claimant Personal Injury – Claimant Agriculture and Estates Contentious Probate Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate The testimonials in the report highlight that clients right across our firm appreciate our ability to build great relationships, deliver practical outcomes and maintain good communication throughout. Read our blog for more about the Legal 500 report and hear more about what clients and partners think about working with Harrowells. https://lnkd.in/emXbkcam Peter Mills Robert Onyett Matt Rowley Matthew Hayward Simon Black Amy Foweather Richard H.
