Have you visited yet? 👀 Experience the extraordinary craftsmanship of one of Ethiopia's leading contemporary artists in our latest exhibition: ELIAS SIME Eregata እርጋታ 16 March – 8 September 2024 Multi-disciplinary artist Elias Sime weaves, layers and assembles everyday materials into lyrical abstract compositions. He often creates intricate works from electronic components, including circuit boards, computer keys and wires. Upstairs, you can explore key works from his early stitch, yarn and button series, as well as the mud and straw work, Monkeys, Frogs and Television (2005). ‘Each material I collect has its own story, and has been touched by many hands. It has its own language. All the different stories related to the material move me, and I transform these intuitive reactions into my compositions.’ Elias Sime 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e-mT6wwT We are open Wednesday-Sunday, 11am-5pm. Members and under 18s go free. Hastings and Rother residents go half price. 📸 Installation views at Hastings Contemporary 2024. Photos by Chip Creative.
