So how DOES a team of team development professionals develop their team? On our annual retreat we applied the principles that underpin our work with leadership teams to our own. Here are a couple of reflections on how we did that: - Teams need to spend time on, as well as in, the team - we connected through, around and outside of the day to day work, to enable it - I am, because you are (and vice versa) - we developed our mutual understanding of ourselves, each other, the team, and our work. #teamdevelopment #teamcoaching #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #coaching #teams #growth #development #boards

Our regular h³ Book Group is made up of independent coaches, consultants and facilitators from our network and meets roughly monthly. Last week we had the pleasure of hosting Clare Norman MCC Norman and our long-term friend and book group member, Dr Sam Humphrey, to discuss their new book, Cultivating Coachability. Our group enjoyed a wide-ranging and thoughtful conversation around the book’s central themes of ‘readiness’ at different stages in the coaching process, our diverse approaches to engaging with different stakeholders to ensure coaching lands effectively for clients, coaches and sponsors (and identifying when and why it might not). One takeaway that many of us were drawn to was the idea of reframing "chemistry meetings" as "compatibility meetings”. A big thank you to Clare and Sam for joining us and sharing their thinking, and to our friends and book group members for making the session a wonderful hour of reflection, provocation, and connection.

It's rewarding to see h³ | hCubed Partner Helen Hopper's book about relationship dynamics on boards becoming a catalyst for thinking and change across so many networks, like this great conversation with SWiTCH - a community for senior women in business and BT Group.

💥 Incredible Insights on Board Dynamics at the #SwitchEvent. I had the pleasure of attending a very inspiring Switch event on Wednesday. The energy in the room was incredible, it was a fantastic experience to learn, exchange ideas, and connect with such talented women. A huge thank you to Joy Harcup and Helen Hopper for sharing their deep insights from their latest book, "The ART and Psychology of Board Relationships: The Secret Life of Boards". The session covered seven common relationship challenges at the board/executive level and practical strategies for managing them using the ART framework—Awareness, Relating, and Tactics. I’ve already bought the book and started reading it—it’s incredibly insightful (based on in-depth interviews with board members) and surprisingly easy to digest. Highly recommended! Thank you, Erin Callaghan and Chloe Watts for the invitation! Looking forward to new Switch events! #SwitchEvent #BoardRelationships #Leadership #Networking

Circumstances meant I had to join virtually this year, but it was still a transformational process. Thank you Helen Hopper, Andrew Wood, Hilary Duggan and Shauna McVeigh for investing so much to make hybrid working such a fantastic experience, I could feel the sun as if I were there too.
