Significant progress on our transformation plan with upgraded targets.   Today we announced our full year results for the year ending 31 December 2024. While there have been challenging market conditions which have impacted profitability in the short-term, we are confident of the long-term outlook and that 2025 will see the in-year contribution from the transformation plan.    CEO, Chris Payne, commented: “In the face of ongoing market weakness, 2024 has seen Headlam accelerate a major strategic restructuring of the Group. At its heart, this transformation plan will simplify our customer offer, simplify our network and simplify our operations, positioning the Group to increase market share, structurally improve profitability and reduce the capital intensity of the business. Congratulations to the first Headlam Trainee Fitters who have completed their training programme and are ready for their first flooring jobs. This initiative has been an incredibly successful programme for the young fitters, the industry, the colleagues taking them on and, of course, us. Thank you to our training suppliers ARDEX UK , Polyflor Ltd , F. Ball and Co. Ltd., Mapei (UK) Ltd, Unilin , Tarkett and UZIN UK - who have given the fitters the best training and kick-started their flooring careers. Thank you also to John Clark, our Transformation Director, who spearheaded this initiative. We often get out on the road and visit our customers. Those valuable relationships we've built over the years keep us at the forefront of the industry. Earlier this month, we caught up with Rightway Carpets & Flooring in Cheadle Hulme. It's a great little store with a passionate owner, and it's right on the Cheadle Hulme high street. Sophie started her career as a Trade Counter Assistant and joined our Customer Service Specialist programme to expand her skillset. Now promoted to Trade Counter Manager, Sophie says the apprenticeship gave her invaluable skills and confidence to support customers and colleagues. 🙎🏼♀️ Camilla Suggett, Customer Service Manager, Mercado Thatcham. Enrolling in the Operational Departmental Management programme, Camilla developed project management and leadership skills while working with senior leaders on high-impact projects. We wanted to share some good news about trainee fitters. The trainees will graduate on 25th February and be available for work from March 2025 in the Leeds area. Thanks to training and work experience from our partners ARDEX UK , Mapei , UZIN UK and F. Ball and Co. Ltd. , over the past six months, the trainee fitters have gained hands-on experience across carpet, subfloor prep, timber, and vinyl sheet/LVT installation – and have applied their skills in charity and community projects. By the end of February, the fitters will have completed their CSCS operatives training and test, and the application for their CSCS card will be complete. 👍🏼 Are you looking for fresh talent? Florprotec, part of the Headlam Group, has recently supported a Bewdley project featured in BBC programme, DID SOS by donating materials. We'd like to introduce David Rose... David joined the Headlam team last year and has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer, bringing over 30 years of senior leadership experience. In his role as Chief Operating Officer, David will be responsible for Operations, Supply Chain and Rug & Sample Manufacturing, ensuring that our buying and promotional plans can be turned into a reality with the right stock, in the right quantities, in the right place delivered with quality to customers on time and in full. David has a proven track record in transforming international and domestic supply chain and logistic operations, with previous executive roles across prominent organisations, including UK Flooring Direct, Keswick Flooring, Home Retail Group, Argos, and Studio Moderna.
