A metal recycling firm has been hit with a £650,000 fine following a routine inspection. Serious health and safety failings were caught on camera by HSE inspector Emma Page. In the footage, workers can be seen manually sorting waste within yards of several 360-excavators, before a red HGV skip lorry reverses towards the men. No measures were in place to prevent the vehicle coming into contact with the workers. Being struck by a moving vehicle is one of the main causes of death and injury in the waste and recycling industry. You can read the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/exq-7RZc
