Health Innovation East has a formed a partnership with one of our NHS system partners to support the Evaluation capacity and capability of both organisations. We are advertising for roles to staff this functioning (successful candidates will be employed by Health Innovation East). This is an exciting opportunity for both early-stage evaluators, and for senior analysts. The East of England SDE team is pleased to share that VISTA (Viable Implementation of SATRE, SACRO and Tools for AI) has been announced as one of six innovative projects supported by DARE UK's early adopter programme. Led by Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and supported by Health Innovation East and Cambridge University Health Partners, VISTA is to be funded by UK Research and Innovation to accelerate the adoption of AI and machine learning capabilities in the East of England Secure Data Environment (SDE). This project will test and deploy AI and machine learning tools to: * Automate deployment of Trusted Research Environments * Accelerate research outputs * Advance AI/ML readiness for training on sensitive data By tackling key challenges in scalability and disclosure control, VISTA aims to enhance the safe and secure use of sensitive health data for research, driving scientific discovery and improved patient outcomes. A new video features local care home staff explaining how facial recognition app PainChek is helping provide better care for their residents. Through the #DigitisingSocialCare programme at Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Health and Care Partnership, 594 residents across 18 different care locations are using PainChek so far. Our #Biodesign programme provides a structured, needs-led approach to healthcare innovation, supporting entrepreneurs, clinicians, and industry leaders in developing impactful solutions. We were delighted to host our first Biodesign workshop, led by Rush Bartlett and Sarah Greasley, last month. What is Biodesign? Biodesign is a needs-driven innovation process which has been repeatedly used in healthcare to identify and advance the most promising opportunities.
