Being referred to a breast clinic doesn’t mean you have breast cancer, just that further assessment is needed to find out what is going on. Breast Cancer Awareness Month If your GP is male and you don’t feel comfortable going to see him, ask if there’s a female doctor or practice nurse available. You can also ask for a female nurse or member of staff to be present during your breast examination. Or you can take a friend or relative with you but check first if you are able to do this. If you're worried about breast health or breast cancer you can speak to a breast care nurse at Breast Cancer Now for free on 0808 800 6000. The helpline is open Monday to Friday – 9am to 4pm; Saturday – 9am to 1pm. https://lnkd.in/giB49wy
About us
Healthwatch is the independent consumer champion created to gather and represent the views of the public. Healthwatch will play a role at both national and local level and will make sure that the views of the public and people who use services are taken into account. Every voice counts when it comes to shaping the future of health and social care, and when it comes to improving it for today. Everything that Healthwatch Rochdale does will bring the voice and influence of local people to the development and delivery of local services. Healthwatch Rochdale will take on the work of the Local Involvement Networks (LINks) and will also: - represent the views of people who use services, carers and the public on the Health and Wellbeing boards set up by local authorities. Healthwatch Rochdale will report concerns about the quality of health care to Healthwatch England, which can then recommend that the Care Quality Commission take action.
