It's incredible how in-person meetings can elevate relationships to a whole new level! After years of digital connection, I finally had the pleasure of meeting Alison Petty Coaching in person on Wednesday. While virtual networking during COVID brought us together initially - leading to an inspiring episode of the Helping organisations thrive podcast where Alison shared her remarkable journey to becoming a coach - there's something truly special about face-to-face connection. In person, you pick up on the subtle energy, body language, and genuine enthusiasm that sometimes gets lost in the digital space. Our conversation flowed naturally, allowing for deeper insights and that invaluable 'human touch' that builds authentic professional relationships. This meeting reminded me that while digital connections are valuable and necessary in our modern world, in-person meetings: > Create stronger emotional connections. > Allow for more nuanced communication. > Foster deeper trust and understanding. > Generate more creative energy. > Lead to more meaningful collaborations. Thank you Alison for a fantastic catch-up! We also had the pleasure of Myrtle the dog! Looking forward to future conversations and collaboration opportunities.

Helping Individuals and Organisations Unlock Their Human Potential, Build Growth Strategies, and Cultivate a Resilient Mindset | Executive Business Coach | Author of "Weathering the Storm" | Top 5% Global Podcaster

Building resilient teams requires practical insights from diverse perspectives. I'm humbled by this thoughtful review of Weathering the Storm: A Guide to Building Resilient Teams from Cady Allen, a recent guest on my Helping organisations thrive podcast: "This book teaches us how to build individual and team resilience through Julian’s extensive research of established theories, and case studies from his broad and diverse professional and personal experiences – from coaching CEOs to leading an international yoghurt commercial team. I particularly like how Julian has used crisis scenarios, understood through different perspectives and applied the learnings in peacetime conditions. I feel this approach will support sustainable resilience and continuous growth. I also like the inclusion of therapeutic perspectives and practices, like mindfulness. Whilst these might still be relatively new concepts in some corporate settings, the book contains a set of actions at the end of each chapter, making it straightforward for anyone to apply within their setting. This isn’t a book that I’ll read once. I look forward to it serving as a reference guide and toolkit for me to use independently and with my team." Thank you Cady for taking the time to read and provide such insightful feedback. Your perspective on how the book bridges theory and practice is exactly what I aimed to achieve. Helping Individuals and Organisations Unlock Their Human Potential, Build Growth Strategies, and Cultivate a Resilient Mindset | Executive Business Coach | Author of "Weathering the Storm" | Top 5% Global Podcaster

It is a myth that a group of resilient individuals will create a resilient team, Recent studies (link to one in the comments below) have shed new light on team resilience, challenging conventional wisdom. In our rapidly evolving business landscape, understanding this concept is more than academic—it's a competitive necessity. Here's what you need to know: > Team resilience is more than the sum of individual resilience. > It's a dynamic process, not a static trait. > Leadership plays a crucial role in fostering team resilience. > Psychological safety and team trust are foundational. > Post-adversity growth is possible and should be cultivated. Did you know? Teams with high mental model accuracy show higher adaptive performance during unforeseen breakdowns. Transformational leadership has been linked to increased team resilience. Resilient teams often demonstrate a "growth trajectory" after overcoming challenges. Is your organisation or team actively building resilience? It might be the difference between weathering the storm and thriving through it.

Building Organisational Change Muscle | Change Leadership & Business Transformation Expert | Integration Change Specialist | Keynote Speaker | Executive & Senior Leadership Mentor | Board Advisor on Change Strategy

I recently had an insightful conversation with Julian Roberts 👇 on the overwhelming nature of constant disruption and how leaders are navigating it. Here are some key takeaways from our chat: ⛓️💥 Leaders are stretched thin - it’s not just the speed of change, but the sheer amount coming at them from all directions while trying to keep day to day operations going. The layering of disruptions, like economic challenges and global uncertainties, only adds to the overwhelm. 🔑 Managing change alone isn’t enough - disruptions are more emotional and unpredictable, requiring strategic change leadership to guide teams through ongoing, multifaceted challenges, rather than just managing a process. 🤹♀️ Capacity building is crucial - both for leaders and teams. Without creating the space, making the time for it, to process and reflect on change, burnout becomes real threat. 🌊 Change feels relentless - disruptions come in waves, without the breaks that traditional change used to offer. It’s not about tackling one thing at a time but navigating overlapping changes all at once. 😫 Overwhelm is the new challenge not resistance - it’s okay to admit that the constant disruptions are exhausting. Leaders need to be okay with asking for help and finding ways to slow down, even when everything feels urgent With constant disruption and overlapping change, how are you as leaders building your organisational change muscle to flex and adapt in response to change - creating the capacity to effectively lead through change? #changeleadership #transformation #culturechange https://lnkd.in/gFq-54si
