HWF team lead by Rowley Higgs and Jacob Melville-Smith are pleased to have assisted Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a part of BlackRock, on the significant investment, from funds managed by GIP, in Lanes Group Limited through the placement of a Buy-Side W&I policy. Lanes Group Limited are the leading wastewater solutions provider in the UK, providing critical support to water utilities and private sector business across the UK. This deal further highlights HWF Partners’ expertise on advising W&I protection for Infrastructure deals. The HWF team worked alongside Linklaters and KPMG, who also advised on the transaction.

We are delighted to have assisted on structuring another W&I policy for Ashtead Technology, a leading subsea equipment rental and solutions provider for the global offshore energy sector, on their acquisition of Seascan and sister company J2 Subsea, both international subsea electronics and ROV tooling rental and services businesses. We have worked alongside Ashtead’s Technology’s legal adviser, Ashurst LLP. The team at HWF was led by David Layton, Rowley Higgs, Charlie Newport and Aidan Fazakerley.   This transaction builds on HWF’s strength in deals in the energy and infrastructure sector, which is led by a dedicated team of energy and infrastructure sector experts.

We are pleased to share that our Italian team has been joined by Margherita Vitale! Margherita joins us as an associate. She is a qualified lawyer with seven years of experience in Private Equity and M&A. During her career she has worked with funds, private equities, and multinational companies in a wide range of industries, assisting them in M&A transactions.

The high deal flow from Q2 has carried into Q3, driven by strong activity in tech, infrastructure, and operational sectors.
