We’re thrilled to welcome Richard Phelps OLY as our new Chair 🙌🏼 Richard’s family has a deep history with rowing and the Thames, with a legacy spanning over 300 years. From boatmen to Olympians, his story represents the evolution of #HRR and the sport of #rowing. As we look ahead, Richard brings a commitment to preserving our traditions while embracing innovation and inclusivity. We’re excited for the journey ahead as we enter this next chapter 🚣🏽♂️
More exciting news….. I am really pleased to share that I have become the Chair of Henley Royal Regatta. Just under 100 years ago, my grandfather and his brothers (see pic) weren’t allowed to compete at the Regatta or even walk in the Steward’s Enclosure because they were ‘working men’ - the boat tents (see main pic) were their domain. How the #world, the sport of #rowing and #HRR have evolved. I am immensely honoured and proud to have the opportunity to lead this amazing organisation and iconic #sportingevent as it goes through it’s next stage of #evolution. More updates and announcements to follow. Exciting times…….
