About us

Transforming progression so that young people achieve their potential and improve their wellbeing. We reduce the impact of the barriers that many young people face by providing organisations that support them and the individuals themselves, with a digital toolkit that delivers insight, aids connection, celebrates achievements and enables progression. This means that young people can live their best life and make a more positive contribution. Our products provide a digital solution (apps and desktop solution) for organisations supporting young people by create progression plans, record evidence and aid connection in a simple and effective way. Our solution saves the organisations time and increases the impact of their support. It also enables them to evidence their impact to inspectors, executives and funders. For the young people, it gives them ownership, putting them in control and ensuring their voice heard. Our products have been designed to aid connection, bringing young people together with the family, friends, advocates and professionals who support them. We work with local authorities, schools, colleges, mental health providers and employers.

It has been great to witness the evolution of this tool - from a twinkle in Roger's eye through to a full-blown business. There have been some unexpected twists and turns along the way, many of which have demonstrated the wide applicability of the approach. This is a great idea for a taster and I thoroughly recommend it!

Free person-centred planning and outcomes recording tool! Some of you know that I have been part of a project since 2019 to develop a person-centred planning and outcomes recording App. In 2020 we won significant R&D funding from SBRI/Welsh Government to develop this, and since then there are many organisations using it very successfully. BUT - we wanted to make the approach and associated methodology freely available to anybody. So we have just launched the ForMi Way, which is a pdf guidance document and linked Word template - and you can get it here... https://lnkd.in/ePRR8Dav Why are we doing this? Well, we are hoping some people will use this approach and then want to look at our ForMi digital tool. But we also want to help people develop their practice around person-centred planning and outcomes recording. This ultimately benefits anyone who is on a planned programme of support. This is early days, and we welcome feedback on the tool, in order that we can develop it further. Why don't you download a copy and tell us what you think 😁

Great opportunity if you're a foster carer, and you don't need to be a member.

There is no doubt supporting looked after young people is not straightforward, and there are lots of challenges, but it doesn't have to be like these examples. Part of the equation is having an effective circle of support around the young person, and plan that everyone is signed up to, including the young person. Surprised don't have to happen, and even emergencies can be planned for.

A useful simple guide to the different types of foster care

Did you know that there are different types of foster care? Foster care can take a few different forms: - Emergency foster care – a child needs immediate care, often on the same day as the request is made - Respite foster care - looking after a child, possibly on a regular basis, to support the child to continue to live with their family, or to support other foster families. - Short-term foster care – caring for a child while plans are made for their future, from a few days up to 2 years. - Long-term foster care – a child lives within the foster family until the age of 18 years. Sometimes, they will stay beyond the age of 18 years and this is called a staying put arrangement. - Parent and child foster care -supporting and supervising vulnerable parents in the early weeks/months of parenting whilst the Local Authority makes a fuller assessment We recognise that at different periods in their lives people can offer different things in relation to fostering. If you feel you may have the time to offer any of the above types of foster care we would love to hear from you. Why not take our short questionnaire to see if you could foster: https://lnkd.in/d8iq35Dr #fitzgeraldfostering #ukfostering #fostercareuk #independentfosteringagency #respitefostercare #fostercareawareness #fostercaresupport #slough #reading #windsor #bracknellforest

It was A-Level results day last week, which may have got some care experienced young people thinking about what’s next. 📚 In October we'll run our #TicktheBox campaign, highlighting the importance of young people ticking the box that indicates they have care experience on their UCAS application form. This will make sure they can access all of the support available – including financial – when they start uni. Find out more ➡️ http://bit.ly/3YMIunN
