About us
Hertelier is an online news platform that aims to enlighten and inspire women in hospitality to pursue, navigate and nurture their careers at every stage, through sharing information and sparking conversation. Our content is curated through the lens of supporting women in their hotel industry careers-sharing valuable lessons from accomplished pros and rising stars, covering business skills, work/life balance, industry news, and networking opportunities-presented in a fresh voice, with bold graphics and social media integration. We hope Hertelier offers you content that you are excited to follow! As we come off of the most devastating time in the history of our industry, it may seem strange to launch a new initiative of this scope; but as you well know, despite making up more than 70% of the lodging workforce, women still remain grossly underrepresented in top management of hotels. Hertelier hopes to incite change, to inform, connect and empower women to lead…and what better time than now?

Thank you to Georgine Muntz and Michael Frenkel for putting together such an incredible group of hospitality leaders for an honest and inspiring discussion on opportunities and challenges in hospitality. Encouraging to learn 🌍 as labor remains a challenge, focusing on DEI is still an untapped opportunity! 🖥️ technology can offer solutions in the form of personalisation, loyalty, and promotions to improve service and profitability ❤️ people are the heart of hospitality and the right technology will only enhance person to person connections and service delivery 🌳 sustainability programs shouldn’t be viewed as added costs but a way to create efficiency that improves the bottom line…and it can be made fun! Gamification is a hot trend to improve sustainability adoption according to Gregory Schwartz , author of “Bright Green Future” Lovely to meet everyone, especially Georgine Muntz, the inspiring CEO of Visual Matrix!! An entrepreneur, mom, fierce supporter of women and gender equality -- mark my words she is bringing the right kind of energy and change to hospitality! Shoutout to her incredible team, Patty Jefferson, Yuliya Denysenko and others (whose cards I neglected to grab, apologies) #hertelier #womeninhospitality #womenintravel #DEI #womenintech Shift4

We help travel & hospitality brands get consistent media coverage, building awareness of the experiences that guests will remember for a lifetime.
As we close out #hispanicheritagemonth, I wanted to re-share this piece I wrote last year for hertelier, compiling insights from four powerhouse Latina leaders in hospitality. I had the honor to interview these four amazing women - Maricela Aguilar-Najera, Julissa Kepner, Dayna Chacon, and Mazilli Restrepo Serna about representation in hospitality leadership, the importance of mentorship, and paving the way for the next generation. Read here: https://lnkd.in/etXm4qHm Thanks to these herteliers and to Emily Goldfischer for the support!

Grateful for and honored by this recognition from the International Hospitality Institute for our work on hertelier! This would not have been possible without the guidance and support of my partner and friend Nancy Mendelson, the unsung #shero of hertelier. If you don't follow Nancy, you should! She is super smart and has so much wisdom to impart, which she does regularly on hertelier! Thank you also to all the amazing women who have shared their stories with us! Proud to say we have published over 620 articles, opinion pieces, and trend stories featuring the many incredible #womeninhospitality. Thank you to Dr. Jeffrey O and the International Hospitality Institute for your ongoing support! Humbled to be on this list with so many leaders I admire. Congratulations to all! Must see TV ⬇ ⬇ 132 years is too long to wait for gender equality! #hertelier #genderequality
“Still Working 9 to 5” explores where we are 40 years later…. and we still have work to do. Research shows that based on our current trajectory, we will not see gender parity until 2154—132 years from now. We have certainly faced extraordinary challenges over the past few years. But it is unacceptable that, at the same time, we have allowed gender parity to become a secondary priority. Delaying this solution until 2154 is outrageous. We can achieve this in five years. It’s not that difficult, all it takes is choice. We’ve overcome unsolvable challenges before. When disease struck, we created a COVID-19 vaccine in less than a year. When innovation presented itself, we created autonomous vehicles. When presented with seemingly insurmountable obstacles, dedication to a solution and prioritization have seen us through. I can’t wait to watch icons Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda, available on Apple TV and Amazon Prime today!
