About us
Hey Girls is an award-winning ‘buy one donate one’ period product social enterprise operating in the UK. Community Spotlight: Cysters 🌟 This Black History Month, we’re shining a light on Cysters, an incredible community-led organisation breaking down barriers in health and wellness for women, non-binary people, and those of marginalised genders, especially within Black and ethnic minority communities. Founded by the brilliant Neelam Heera - Shergill, Cysters challenges stigmas and advocates for accessible healthcare and education on reproductive health. From tackling period poverty to empowering individuals with knowledge, they’ve been a fierce voice for equality, driving change for under represented groups. At Hey Girls, we believe in the power of community, and we’re proud to support organisations like Cysters that share our commitment to menstrual equity and education for all. Let’s use this time to honour Black history by celebrating leaders like Neelam and the impactful work Cysters is doing every day to uplift marginalised voices. #BlackHistoryMonth #CommunitySpotlight #HeyGirlsUK

📣 Winvic’s Future Leader’s programme drives new partnerships with VCSE’s. We’re proud to share the achievements of our latest Voyage Leadership Programme! This year, one group from our 2023/24 cohort presented a business case on increasing Winvic’s spending with voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs), leading to impactful new partnerships: 💫 ABC Life Support CIC - Delivering physical and mental health first aid training to our employees. Winvic’s collaboration with ABC Life Support has enabled them to deliver a subsidised course to Phoenix Milton, a vibrant charity and social enterprise supporting people with learning disabilities and complex needs. 💫 Hey Girls - An award-winning period product social enterprise with a mission to eradicate period poverty in the UK, improve access to quality products and increase education about period health. Winvic’s partnership with Hey Girls means that for every product purchased, one is donated, contributing to the reduction of period poverty across the UK. Head of HR & People Development, Rebecca Schwarz said “We are excited to put into action the initiatives created during this leadership development course and to continue guiding the cohort through the process of bringing their ideas to life. Our commitment to developing young minds means we have excellent relationships with education and training partners across the country. That means more individuals and families across the country can now have sustainable period care delivered straight to their doors—completely free of charge. Our Home Pack scheme is designed to empower organisations like councils, universities and businesses to set a budget, enabling their service users to choose their preferred period products. From menstrual cups to cloth pads, we’ve made sure every choice is sustainable, affordable, and dignified. Having period products delivered to their door is crucial because it breaks down barriers for those unable to access what they need to have a dignified period. Everyone deserves access to safe, sustainable period products—without compromising the health of our planet. It’s time businesses step up and join the movement toward a greener, more responsible future. At Hey Girls we’re proud to offer a variety of sustainable products: 🩸Our period pants holds the equivalent of 4-5 tampons and lasts up to 5 years—making them a money smart and eco-friendly alternative. 🩸Our pads break down in just 6-12 months, while name brand pads take 500-800 years to decompose. 🩸 Our menstrual cup offers up to 10 years of reliable, comfortable protection with just one purchase. Crafted from medical-grade silicone, it's reusable, easy to clean, and available in various sizes to suit every body. Our unique Home Packs web page allows your business pre-load a set amount, so your team or customers can select their preferred sizes and have period products delivered straight to their doorstep. Easy, discreet, and thoughtful. Let’s make sure no one has to choose between taking care of themselves and protecting the planet. Together, we can lead the charge toward zero waste, better access, and healthier choices. Because when it comes to period care, we ALL deserve better. Join us today and let’s create a world where access to period products isn’t a privilege—it’s a right. #BreakUpWithToxicPeriods #SustainablePeriods #ConsciousConsumerism

‘What have periods got to do with health and climate justice?’ We had the absolute pleasure of attending Wen (Women's Environmental Network) event last night at Amnesty International UK. To answer that question...it’s a whole bloody lot. Brilliant to hear from this inspiring speaker line up Ms (Dr) Karen Joash, Dr Maria Tomlinson, Hon. Tania Verge, and Baroness Natalie Bennet on exactly how we can all work together to address the link and tackle key issues around public health and the environment, including: 🩸Periods are shifting from a private experience to a collective one. Social media is a part of many people's everyday lives and education around periods is more accessible and visible. A win, but we must stay vigilant on how misinformation can affect experience and learnings around periods. 🩸Generic brand disposable and reusable period products can sometimes contain harmful compounds. By ensuring everyone has access to high quality, sustainable period products (like ours) we can protect both our bodies, and the planet. 🩸To make real change, we must address every aspect of period health. We need to create a system that dives deeper into the intersectionality around periods and supports marginalised groups proportionately. 🩸We can learn a lot from the Catalonia government who already guarantee that all women and menstruating individuals in the region can access a choice of menstrual products (including reusables) through the more than 3,280 pharmacies. It’s already happening else where, and it works. No more excuses! A room totally BURSTING with the drive to build a system that prioritises our health, and the planet. Periods are NOT a 'niche'! Thank you Wen (Women's Environmental Network) for opening up this incredibly important conversation. We're backing Wen's call for a Menstrual Health, Dignity and Sustainability Act with 34 more experts and organisations. TWO BILLION* period products are flushed down the toilet each year (yep, you read that right!) So the time to act is now. At Hey Girls, we’re always pushing boundaries—and this time, we’re making another world-first move. Our Free Vend Unit features paper bags, helping to encourage responsible disposal. These bags carry a clear message: period care shouldn’t harm the planet. We were the first to stamp this important reminder on our products, setting the standard for responsible disposal. But there's more, these bags also offer a special shout-out to our incredible community partners. With a unique QR code, your can learn more about the community partners receiving these donations—because transparency is everything. The planet and people matter. Let’s make every period one that protects them both. Don’t rush to flush. 🙅♀️ Email us at b2b@heygirls.co.uk so you can join us in protecting the planet and supporting communities. 🌱 #Environmenstrualweek #HeyGirlsUK #Sustainability *Statistic Source - Wen (2024)

Standing up and speaking out to break the stigma! Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting an amazing event at Arup —big thanks to Luke, and our inspiring speakers Dr Lara Owen, Jodie Hughes and Molly Fenton BCAh for making it so impactful. We explored key topics like period dignity and menopause support in the workplace, sharing how businesses can create inclusive environments that meet their teams' needs. From empowering voices to normalising conversations, when we talk openly about these topics we start breaking the taboo and creating real change. So, in honour of World Menopause Day, we call you to be the change you want to see. Let's keep pushing for more inclusive, supportive workplaces. #WorldMenopauseDay #MenopauseMatters #PeriodDignity #InclusiveWorkplaces #HeyGirlsUK
