Festivities at Hillarys HQ 🎃🪔   This week at Hillarys, we got into the festive spirit with not one but two celebrations! Yesterday, we embraced Halloween in true style with department costumes, quizzes and spooky fun. Inside out, BLT sandwiches, the plague… our teams really went all out to make it a frightfully fantastic day 👻🕸️   We also marked Diwali by sharing traditional treats and samosas, bringing a bit of warmth and togetherness to the office. As Black History Month draws to a close, we want to reflect on the stories we’ve shared and the progress we’ve made in Reclaiming Narratives. Throughout this month, our employees have honoured and learned about trailblazers - from Ignatius Sancho, Mary Seacole, to Wilston Samuel Jackson, whose legacies of resilience and courage continue to inspire us.   An initiative we've really resonated with us this year has been the #MyNameIs campaign, launched by Race Equality Matters. This movement reminds us that correctly pronouncing names is a small, but impactful way to show respect and inclusion. Our amazing colleagues got creative with fundraising and shared stories to help spread awareness. A massive thank you to everyone who wore pink and made a difference—your efforts truly matter. 🍸 Mocktail Magic We had an absolute blast hosting Slug & Lettuce for a fun mocktail-making class! Our team learned some new skills and mixed up delicious drinks—cheers to a fantastic experience. 🍫 Taste Testing Fun A big thank you to Gems at work for sending us some office samples! It’s truly inspiring to see so many of our teams come together to raise money for such a vital cause. Whether you’re enjoying a slice of cake, sipping your favorite brew, or simply showing your support, every little bit helps. Since 1990, Macmillan Coffee Mornings have brought together millions of people across the country to raise money in support of the 3 million people in the UK who bravely battle cancer every day. Macmillan helps those with cancer live life to the fullest by providing physical, financial, and emotional support. 🎉 Yeehaw! The Hillarys x Poodle and Blonde Launch Party Rode into Town! 🤠✨ Last week we had an incredible time celebrating the launch of our new collaboration with Poodle & Blonde! A huge thank you to everyone put in so much hard work and creativity to make the event a reality.🌟 We were thrilled to have some of our Interior Squad along for the ride, and as you can see from the beaming smiles, our cushions stole the spotlight! From groovy checkerboard patterns to throwback vintage prints, the collection is a true stand. We’re counting down the hours until the full launch! 🎉Congratulations to Zoe Ball who is celebrating 10 years of service this month🎉 This month, we're excited to celebrate Zoe Ball, our dedicated Employee Communications Manager, who has reached a remarkable milestone—10 years with us at Hillarys! Zoe joined us straight out of university in September 2014, after earning her degree in English. Starting her journey in the Content team, she later transitioned into Internal Communications, where she's been making an impact since 2018. Here's Zoe reflecting on her time with us: "I started working at Hillarys straight out of university after graduating with an English degree. I started in the Content team in Marketing, and then in 2018, I moved into the Internal Comms team to work as an Employee Communications Manager. Now, I look after comms for our colleagues, including our intranet platform, ‘The interior’. It gives me a great deal of job satisfaction to know that if I do my job well, I’m enabling others to do theirs well too. Since I’ve worked here, I’ve got married, been on maternity leave with my son, and in a couple of weeks’ time, I’ll be going off on maternity leave to have my daughter. I’m lucky to work with such a great team, and to have seen some amazing changes in the department. Things never stay still, meaning there’s always something exciting to get involved in." From cutting-edge fabrics to futuristic interior innovations , this event is always a source of fresh ideas. Did you know that the Parisan Edit, which we launched in May, was inspired from their trip in 2023?! Our team is buzzing with inspiration and can't wait to bring these exciting trends back to our designs and products. 😮DON'T LOOK DOWN🥴 On Saturday morning, 8 of our brave colleagues descended the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, abseiling a staggering 100ft down the south block, to fundraise for Hayward House at Nottingham Hospitals Charity. 🏆Office Olympics 2024🏆 Over the last 2 weeks, we brought the energy of the Paris Olympic Games right into our Colwick offices!
