Hilton Seachill is very proud to sponsor and attend the launch of Grimsby’s state of the art UK Seafood School. A fantastic achievement for everyone involved in making it happen.  In recognition of our lead sponsorship of the School, Matthew Dall, People & Culture Director UK & Ireland was asked to speak at the opening. The school will benefit the Seafood industry by building the skills we need to today, and in the future, to ensure we are able to meet the emerging needs of our customers and supply value for money, nutritious and tasty food to our nation. As importantly it is an investment in the Grimsby community where we operate, delivering training and career opportunities for both those working in the Seafood industry today and pathway into the industry for those that are not. We look forward to partnering with the school and Seafood Grimsby Humber Alliance (SGHA) on future projects and talent development. A huge thank you for a great opening evening. 

A day in the life of one of our production team!!!! Today marks my first year anniversary being a part of the Hilton Seafood Family. So yesterday I along with Scott Riches, Operations Manager completed a "dilo". This "day in the life of" ensured we were able to touch base with our team members in their everyday working environment whilst working the 06:00 - 14:00 shift. It was great to experience the collaborative working environment and the teams efforts and see for ourselves the efficient ways of working and all with a smile. On Friday the Hilton Seafood Family said a heartfelt goodbye to our Head of Supply Chain, Approval, Quality and Compliance after 39 years!!! Karen Simpson advised on Friday her last day that: "Over the last 39 years I have seen people come and go, some even came back for a 2nd go!" Karen started her career as QA supervisor in a small developing business. "I learnt so much in those early years". "I have worked with some great people, and I am very proud of the teams I’ve built and developed in my various roles. One of the of most important things I learnt is that although “power is knowledge” it’s the sharing of that knowledge and empowering your team makes your life easier. Always listen, you my well learn something, every day’s a school day even now." From all your Seafood Family Karen we are honoured that you were a member of our team and thank you for your dedication to the business. We wish you all the very best and hope you enjoy your well deserved retirement to its fullest!!!  

Work experience is an invaluable aspect of personal and professional development. This week we welcomed Daniel Marchant to the Seafood Family (even if only for 1 week). We hope that this week’s experience has provided Daniel unique insights and lessons. Work experience fosters the acquisition of practical skills, such as effective communication, time management and teamwork which are crucial for success in any field. Moreover, work experience enables individuals to expand their network, establish mentorship relationships, and gain exposure to diverse perspectives and working environments. All the Seafood Family hope that it has given Daniel some clarity on career goals, interests, and values by providing firsthand exposure to different functions at our Estate Road 2 Site. We hope Daniel got some idea of what his future aspirations are, guiding him in making informed career decisions and pursuing opportunities aligned with his passions and ambitions. Grocery Aid Day Thursday 9th May 2024 - The Hilton Seafood Family are preparing for Grocery Aid Day tomorrow! Materials for our family members have arrived and we have a competition - "Guess how many Swishy Fish sweets are in the jar?" 🐠 🐠 Prizes for guessing are 1st place £100, 2nd place £25 and 3rd place £15 - all to be a grocery voucher to go towards a family members food shop. 🥖 🥗 Grocery Aid helps support and raise awareness about free confidential welfare support available to grocery colleagues working across every area of the industry. The People & Culture Team are available to talk to our family members about the support Grocery Aid can provide.
