Today, we marked 20 years of the Train Protection Warning System (TPWS), a cornerstone of railway safety in the UK, by coming together in Manchester with the community that's made it possible. We're proud to have been a part of the TPWS evolution, alongside many others who were involved in developing and implementing this solution, helping ensure the safety of countless passengers. We’re grateful to the team at Network Rail for their trust and support on this journey. Looking ahead, we're committed to continuing to innovate and enhance TPWS to meet the future needs of the industry. Target exceeded ✅ Hitachi Rail has achieved a 14% reduction in its own direct emissions. This year’s annual Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report is a record of our success in meeting and surpassing sustainability targets. Driven by digital innovation and our commitment to sustainability, we remain dedicated to achieving carbon neutrality across our key sites by 2030 and reach #netzero by 2050. The significant decline in emissions in FY23 has been supported by our increased use of renewable energy. We have also continued to progress to a circular business model to manage carbon on the full life cycle of our trains, from manufacture to recyclability. With the business obtaining the first ever BSI PAS 2080 certification for the HS2 UK train. #TeamHitachi have developed the industry’s first sustainable Product Declaration (SPD) for the Masaccio battery train, to track its ethical lifecycle. It is great to publish evidence of our commitment to a greener future. Read the full press release and access the ESG report here: https://bit.ly/3ZK1NyF
