It has been a little more than a week since the real estate sector gathered in Munich to share ideas, project, investment opportunities and inspire each other at EXPO REAL 2024. A few takeaways truly stood out this year: 🚦The investment traffic light has gone from red to amber/green(-ish). With transactions picking up again and interest rates dropping, appetite for new products in the logistics, residential and hotel sectors is clear. The office sector also sees some deal flow (albeit slowly). 🌍ESG is firmly in focus, it’s clear the sector is getting more familiar and institutionalised in its approach. Sustainability interventions are not only affecting the people and planet, but also the profit - key for investors making impactful decisions from day one. 🤝Partnerships are growing stronger creating more efficiency, products, transparency and ultimately value in the chain. A welcomed change from other years where people were still exploring what ‘cooperation’ would look like. 💰Pertinently this year, we saw a lot of parties, usually known for their equity investments, dipping their toes into the debt realms which shows there is sufficient funding available for the right projects - we just need policy makers to ensure the legislative and procedural framework allows us to create and deliver them. It was great to see so many relations, new and old, throughout the week. It’s crucial for us to see each of you, outside of our normal day-to-day to inspire each other to be better at what we do each day. A massive thanks to everybody for taking the time to speak to our team and attend our events. #TeamHollis are delighted to provide our project management, employer’s agent, and principal designer services for the ongoing construction of The Sidney Sussex Building at Chesterford Research Park, a 60,000 sq ft highly sustainable multi-let life science building that's over three floors, split into 10 fully fitted suites. A topping out ceremony to celebrate reaching full height was recently held, which marks a significant achievement in the ongoing development, showcasing the great progress being made across the site. Due for completion in 2025, the building will meet the growing demand for space and will feature a versatile mix of individual R&D suites within its multi-occupancy design, enabling existing occupiers to grow whilst also attracting new names to the park community. Sustainability is at the core of the design, with renewable energy sources, efficient structural uses, and daylighting strategies to minimise carbon emissions. Thursday 10th October, Hollis Supported the Marchmont Investment Management 5-side tournament raising money for Muscular Dystrophy UK at Battersea Powerleague. It was great getting to know existing faces a little bit more outside the office as well as meeting some newer faces. Group Stage: Won 2 games (one of them 6-1) Drew 2 games (3-3)(1-1) Lost 1 game (I conveniently don't know the score for that one 😎) before losing our first knockout match But to be honest, I wasn't too fussed about that one, I was too busy yammin' my burger and chips when that game kicked off. Shout out to Megan Durling who played every minute of every game as the sole female representing Hollis and made some important tackles and chipped in with a goal or two.
