Meet three of our inspiring female STEM alumni: after studying through Le Wagon in Mauritius, Vilorshini Ramsamy transitioned into tech and now excels as a front-end developer at WSHOP, France. Latifa Sassi graduated from ESPRIT School of Engineering in Tunisia and now works as an AI Engineer for Revca in the U.S., and Loubna Charrouf transitioned from a 22-year career at Royal Air Maroc to become a Product Manager after graduating from Le Wagon’s Web Development program in Morocco. The future of STEM depends on embracing diverse voices and ensuring that new technologies are built with varied perspectives. Yesterday, Melindi Britz, Managing Director of the Honoris Digital Division, participated in the Times Higher Education World Academic Summit, hosted by The University of Manchester, on the critical theme of 'Making a difference: The purpose of universities in a rapidly changing world'. Alongside Nicola Pittman (Kaplan) and Lynn Evans (University of Liverpool), and moderated by Sara Custer, Editor at Inside Higher Ed, Melindi contributed to a discussion exploring the evolving role of online learning in higher education. The panel highlighted how institutions can create meaningful impact through collaboration and innovation, driving the quality and reach of online education globally. Based on learnings from the Digital Division and the Honoris Online Academy, Melindi shared insights on how universities can embrace new technologies while maintaining quality and academic rigor to achieve sustainable scale - a key challenge as our sector continues its rapid transformation. Tochukwu Ifeanyi from Nile University of Nigeria showcased her entrepreneurial spirit by winning the women-led category at the 2023 Wema Bank Plc. Hackaholics competition, thanks to the support from the Honoris Collective Lab. And Lungile Bomvu, a MANCOSA alumnus, ascended to become the Senior IT Enterprise Architect at The World Bank Group, underscoring the transformative impact of our commitment to cultivating African leaders with a global perspective. We were thrilled to contribute to the UNESCO Digital Learning Week at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris last week. Our Senior Director of Digital Marketing & Innovation, Asmaâ Fenniri, delivered a case study on the recent launch of our new program on Sustainability, Work Ethics, and Gender Equity, entitled: “Fostering SDG education in Africa: An initiative with GenAI and adaptive learning.” Launched in 2023, Digital Learning Week convenes education leaders, policy-makers, researchers, and practitioners from various organizations, for a unique opportunity to share groundbreaking ideas, foster meaningful co-creation, and increase collaborative efforts to advance the digital transformation of education.
