With the Kenyan Government and their universities collaborating with both HOPS and farms in Germany, they have travelled and learned new skills that they are using to help others in their communities and beyond. We are pleased that the Government has confirmed the Seasonal Worker Visa Application for 2025. Following the release of the Independent Review, the Government has extended the Seasonal Worker Scheme for another 5 years, with 43,000 visas earmarked for 2025! The findings of the report underscore the pivotal role of the food supply chain, contributing a staggering £128 billion to the UK economy annually. Moreover, it's heartening to note that this vital sector provides employment opportunities for over 4 million individuals and ensures that high-quality, locally sourced produce is on our plates. In light of these insights, there's a renewed focus on innovation and modernisation within the industry. Increased investment in automation, including packhouse automation initiatives, coupled with ongoing research and development in robotics for field operations, promises to revolutionise efficiency and sustainability.
