🌟 Highlights from Our Annual AGM 🌟 Yesterday, we gathered at Carlisle Racecourse with colleagues, volunteers, trustees, members, and patrons for another successful AGM! A standout panel of long-standing volunteers shared insights on the joys and challenges of volunteering, especially around recruitment. This feedback was invaluable, especially as we welcome Faye Grainger, our new Volunteer Coordinator, who will work closely with our volunteering community within the charity. Our volunteers are so important to the charity and Faye will work with them so that we can all strive forward in a listening and collaborative way. Next year will bring new challenges, especially after the Budget announcement from the government, but we know we will be able to tackle the challenges together and continue to provide free care and support for our patients and families, within the home. Thank you to everyone that attended and contributed.

The team here in the office is still in awe of the incredible generosity shown at last week’s charity raceday at Carlisle Racecourse. 🌻 Our Carlisle Hospice at Home Shops was delighted to welcome Mark Fryer, leader of Cumberland County Council into the store yesterday. Head of Retail, Jude Walker and Jenny Urwin, Marketing discussed the Carlisle regeneration project with Mark and shared in the vision to increase our engagement with students. Welcoming them to the area, encouraging them to get involved with local business and the wider community and Charities. At Hospice at Home we care for all ages and here to support patients, families, and carers within the home during the most difficult of times. We raise funds in a whole variety of ways and have numerous volunteering opportunities to get involved with, from social media to sorting stock. During #HospiceCareWeek, our CEO Debbie McKenna visited the Brampton shop to meet with volunteers. Their ideas and contributions are not only valued but crucial in raising funds for End of Life Care. Our retail teams are true champions, going the extra mile to support their community. Their efforts within our charity shops is more important than ever, as nationally retail charity shops contribute more than the government to funding End of Life Care.
