Last week, the House of Commons Gardens of Remembrance were opened by the Speaker in New Palace Yard. When complete on the 11th of November, the gardens will contain Remembrance tributes representing constituencies in the UK, countries of the Commonwealth, British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies. Today from 12.30pm the Chancellor of the Exchequer Rt Hon Rachel Reeves will deliver the Budget Statement. 🔴 Watch the #Budget2024 live with BSL interpretation our YouTube: https://lnkd.in/er3v7vpg The Budget Statement updates Parliament and the nation on: ➡️ the state of the economy ➡️ public finances ➡️ progress against the Government’s economic objectives After the Budget is delivered, the Leader of the Opposition will respond will respond, followed by a representative for the Liberal Democrats. The Chair of the Treasury Committee is often called to respond at this point too. 🗣️ MPs will then debate the Budget for four days – Thursday 31 October, Monday 4, Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 November 2024.
