🚨🚨 𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗬 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗧 𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗜𝗥 - 𝗠𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗖𝗟𝗜𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗗 𝗩𝗨𝗟𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚. Last night, we were called to an emergency belt repair job at a leading 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 in County Durham. Our engineers arrived on site, where they quickly set to work. • The conveyor belt needed a new section mechanically clipped • Production was back up and running within a couple of hours. 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦: 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗡𝗜𝗥 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 Our team of engineers recently replaced a large belt on an optical sorter line at a Materials Recycling Facility. The new belt was craned into place and fitted with a cold vulcanised joint. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝗡𝗜𝗥 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸? 🔎 NIR optical sorting is a process that uses a near-infrared scanner to identify the specific wavelength signatures of different plastic resins, such as distinguishing PET bottles from HDPE bottles. 🔎 🔎 This technology significantly enhances the accuracy and speed of the sorting process and is also effective in detecting contaminants in the recycling stream. 🔎 🔎 🔎 The NIR camera detects inorganic foreign materials such as stones, plastic, glass, and other items that have a similar colour to the accepted product. 🔎 🔎 🔎 🔎 Impurities such as glass, plastic and stones, which have the same colour as the accepted material, cannot always be detected by a full-colour camera.
