G.F Smith presents Colorplan Vinyl | BTS 📸 . Earlier this year we had the absolute pleasure to work on another beautiful project with our friends at G . F Smith, documenting a first-of-its-kind collaboration between paper, sound, and design. It began by setting Manchester School of Art graphic design students the brief of designing the cover art for their ‘Portal - the sound of colour’ vinyl album - a soundscape developed by father that reflects all 55 colours in the Colorplan range - and the rest is history! Watch the full short doc, following the project from its fruition, to production at Pressision, Creative Print & Packaging, through to the first launch event at SOUP in Manchester. . It’s inspiring for us as filmmakers to work with G.F Smith, who continue to push creative possibilities, collaborating in a truly inspiring way across so many artistic crafts. Their willingness to showcase the beauty of physical materials, with the most stunning papers, and now of course vinyl, is a rarity we should celebrate. Combining all this by working with exciting and talented young artists, and given them the opportunity to work alongside established musicians and designers, demonstrates a true commitment to showing the power of creativity and the arts. Respect to everyone involved throughout this entire process. It’s been lovely x 📹 Directed by Ben G.
