Les dépenses de la sécurité sociale pour 2025 sont fixées à 662 milliards d'euros, soit une augmentation de 30 % par rapport à 2019. Pour limiter le déficit social à 16 milliards d'euros, l'Assurance maladie devra réaliser près de 4 milliards d'euros d'économies. Ces économies seront principalement obtenues grâce à une réduction du prix des médicaments et des dispositifs médicaux, générant 1.2 milliards d'euros d'économies. Parallèlement, le plafond de prise en charge des indemnités journalières en cas d'arrêt maladie sera abaissé, permettant une économie de 600 millions d'euros. L'Assurance maladie réduira également sa prise en charge des consultations chez les médecins et les sages-femmes, engendrant une économie de 1.1 milliards d'euros. Par ailleurs, la revalorisation des retraites est reportée au 1er juillet 2025, ce qui permettra de réaliser 3.6 milliards d'euros d'économies supplémentaires. Ces changements vont avoir un impact réel sur les résultats des comptes de vos régimes complémentaires. Jacopo Tacconi, Business Development Director di Howden Agricoltura, è intervenuto al Festival delle Assicurazioni e della Previdenza 2024 sul tema delle coperture parametriche. "Ad oggi le polizze parametriche stanno iniziando a diffondersi nel contesto italiano, sia per un meccanismo di liquidazione più semplice, sia per l’intensificazione e la maggior frequenza di accadimento di catastrofi naturali estreme." ha spiegato. E’ stato davvero interessante essere fra i relatori al Festival delle Assicurazioni e della Previdenza, organizzato da Milano Finanza in collaborazione con Accenture Italia e Assinews Assinform dall’8 al 10 ottobre. Un evento che ci ha permesso di approfondire i trend più significativi del mercato assicurativo, confrontandoci con i diversi protagonisti del settore e raccontando come operiamo in Howden. “Le polizze parametriche consentono di fare notevoli passi in avanti nella cultura di gestione del rischio, poiché l’elevata personalizzazione di queste coperture ci porta ad approfondire i dati e a creare uno storico degli eventi, che serve ad accrescere nel cliente la consapevolezza dei propri rischi. La trasparenza dei dati, inoltre, diventa una leva anche per una maggiore diffusione delle coperture tradizionali, con gli assicurati che diventano parte attiva nella scelta della tipologia di tutela”. In a couple of months’ time Howden marks its 30th anniversary. Half a lifetime ago for me! In 1994 the Cold War had not long ended. The world wide web was a novel innovation. Mark Zuckerberg was in elementary school. Oasis were up and coming and LinkedIn wasn’t even a thing. Back then our company was just a quartet. Three people and one dog – a Weimaraner (easy for you to say). The dog was called Flight and she's critical to our tale. You see when I was on a Scottish mountain thinking about starting a new company that could really unleash the power of insurance Flight was beside me. And, when we moved into our office, Flight was on reception. In fact, she was the first thing people saw bounding up to them as they came through the door. From the very first, it was Flight who set the tone of the place we wanted to be. A place that put clients first. A place that didn't stand on ceremony. A place with an irrepressible sense of fun. Sadly, Flight isn’t with us anymore and our company has grown from a quartet into a big band with more than 18,000 people in more than 55 countries. But anyone who comes to meet us in our offices in London will see Flight's gone but not forgotten. Her likeness stands in sculpted form at the entrance to my office poised and ready for lift off. And, when we hold our employee awards in November – which will celebrate some amazing achievements. 1994 might be a long time ago but the irrepressible spirit of our former receptionist lives on powering us into tomorrow. #Howden30 #insurance #PeopleFirst

Our very own Mark Craig has been named ‘CFO of the Year’ at the prestigious Insurance Insider Honours! 🏆 Mark joined us in 2017 and became CFO five years ago. Since then, Mark has overseen the business quadruple in size. And achieve incredible compound annual growth of 46 per cent over the past three years. Since 2023, alongside his stellar team, Mark has managed more than 100 M&A deals including the acquisition of TigerRisk, March RS in Spain, North Risk in Denmark and VLC in the Netherlands. And earlier this year he and his team led a USD 6bn refinancing and maturity extension – one of the largest by a European private equity backed business. All the while Mark oversees a vast range of activity, whether it’s preparing first class financial statements, deal structuring, approving new initiatives, managing treasury and providing tax planning and compliance. After picking up his richly deserved prize Mark said: "It’s a great honour to receive the reward but I’m really accepting it on behalf of my incredible team. Our collective power is the key to our success. My team have worked exceptionally hard over the last few years and this award is testament to their abilities. It’s also especially gratifying to win in our 30th anniversary year and can’t wait for what’s to come.” We echo the words of the judging panel when they said “we look forward to seeing what transformative deals Howden’s CFO gets over the line in future”. Meanwhile, hearty congratulations to Kate Pennell and our fantastic marketing colleagues who received a highly commended for their amazing work on the 2023 October rebrand.
